Azio Levetron Mech4 mechanical gaming keyboard. Possibly overkill to an extent but awesome and handy. Only unfortunate thing is that it's huge! I had to pull of the number pad and put it on top of my desk to leave room for the mouse on the tray under the desk. I'll probably build another tray next to this one to hold the mouse later so I can put the number pad back on the keyboard. It still works fine hooked up separtaely via usb though.

Awesome! Let me know how it is after you give it some use. I've been tempted to switch to a mechanical keyboard, but I'm not sure if I would like the feel given the amount of daily abuse I put my boards through. I am happy with my original style Logitech G15, but it is showing its age. Not many new boards appeal to me. |

LOL. My keyboard was $6 at microcenter. When it gets dirty enough, I plan on replacing it instead of cleaning it |

It would look even more bada55 without the Cuddly Cuties candy. Maybe add a Red Bull. |

I run a 1391401... Note the glaring lack of a windows key . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_M_keyboard If you're looking for a mechanical there isn't anything that feels better IMO... but some people don't like the sound. Also... A shot in the dark... Do you play Mechwarrior Phelan? If so check out www.mwll.com I really have kind of an odd dichotomy of peripherals that I use. An old Model M and a Razer Mamba... I really do love this keyboard after a few days of using, although it takes a little getting used to the key placement. I remapped a couple of the keys to aid in the transition. This keyboard has an awesome feature in which not only can you map any of the macro keys to do anything, but you can also remap ANY key into a macro key, so my dash key is now a backspace key and my A5 macro key is now control. You can also save multiple profiles and load them up at any time with the included software, though I used the updated version on their website. The keys have a very nice feel to them, almost like each one is a gas pedal. I can hammer on them as much as I want or lightly tap them to save noise. The keys register halfway down so now need to fully depress.I would've liked full LED backlighting but I loved the looks of this one so I ignored the lack of backlighting. It is backlit around the left macro keys when in "B" mode (or is it when in "A" mode? I don't know but it doesn't matter). I'm gonna add a tiny strip of LEDs under the lip of the desk anyway. Also I'm surprised no one poked fun at the pink laptop. I'm actually building a gaming/work oriented desktop that this keyboard will go to and the slim will go back to this laptop, which is my fiance's old one. She has a Macbook now. Still debating on new mouse between the R.A.T. 7 or the M.M.O. 7. |

@M1, I don't play Mech Warrior but I may try it out once I get my new rig built. Also this board has a button in the top left specifically to disable the Windows keys . |

Yeah, that was my fiance's Chocolate that she gave me; she got it from one of the middle schoolers in her class (she's a student teacher). |

The mouse is gonna have to wait, cuz I just ordered bunch of stuff to finally get my desktop going . I've had, for a while now, an NZXT Phantom full tower case with a 500w psu and Sony DVD burner, just no heart. I just ordered an AsRock 970 board, AMD FX4100 processor, Corsair 8 GB 1600 MHz RAM, and Mushkin 60 GB SSD for $315 . I have an old Graphics card that'll do the job until I can afford a new one, most likely an XFX Radeon 6950 2 GB like my brother has. |

I'd love to do an intel build but that's a lot of scratch. For my needs I don't need that much anyway and a brand new 4-core Bulldozer processor for $110 was good enough for me. I would've rather a 965 BE Phenom II but they were about $50 more. This setup will get me going good enough while still being acceptably fast. A 7970 costs more than what I want to put in the whole build lol. |

You get a nice mechanical keyboard but then settle on a AMD processor? Perhaps all the lead in the iPhone is affecting your decision making process! |

i hear ya Ross, im running a 955 BE phenom II right now. Its just their video card drivers have really irritated me, so they have lost me as a customer. |

Froggy, if I wasn't getting married in less than 6 months, I wouldn't have settled. But I still have to pay for a honeymoon and my fiance wouldn't be so understanding of me paying so much more for even a 2500K. She still doesn't know what I paid for the keyboard . |

After having the keyboard a few weeks, I can say that I definitely LOVE it. Great feel and action. Feels unnatural to use the iRocks slim keyboard I had before. That keyboard is hooked up tI the laptop now. Now that I have the desktop running, I only use the laptop for storage, since I only have 10 GB free space on the SSD I put in the desktop. Eventually I'll get a new HD for the desktop as funds allow, but first I plan on a new monitor, Graphics card, and RAT 7. Then I'll add another HD, unless I find a great deal on one early. My desk setup looks pretty sweet. Not as sweet as Froggy's, but not too shabby . |
