Just booked a little romantic weekend in Montreal next weekend. Anyone know the city and can offer things to do and places to eat? We're already planning on Notre Dame, Parc Olympic, Mont Royal, underground city. We're staying in Vieux Montreal, so we'll have plenty of time there as well. Museums? Places to eat? |

My wife & I went about ten years ago. Visit as many churches, cathedrals, and cemeteries as you can. They're opulent and make for great photo ops. St. Joseph's Oratory (where Brother-now-Saint Andre's heart is displayed) was one of our favorites. Folks stay up late there, so be prepared for night-owl "couche-tard" activity. Going to bed at 10 pm is considered lame. Don't leave without eating some poutine, either. |

There's a 24 hour bagel shop in the Hassid district, wood fired brick ovens. Best bagels on this side of the Atlantic, no kidding. |

Almost forgot about the poutine! And the bagel place - I should re-watch the Anothony Bourdaine episode he did there... Staying up aidn't a problem - We'll likely be looking for a bar or live music after dinner. My dad has gone a bunch (I've only been once and I was 8 or 10 years old) and he suggested some places to eat, among them were Le Bourlingueur (a French bistro he calls his favorite) and Cafe Stash, a Polish joint that they never miss. |

Check out Montreal HD/BMW/Buell/Husq Lots of eye candy for streetbikes. Never had a bad meal in Montreal, ethnic is the way to go. Night life is outstanding, Peel Pub is always a good time, and the St. Catherine neighbor hood is fun, if a little adult. |
