Owens, It's now glaringly obvious. Will my stating that my guess was definitely unequivocally dead wrong somehow allow you to reach climax? My guess was wrong. Now go clean yourself up. Well done Mark! Accurate information rocks! (Message edited by blake on February 11, 2012) |

"...your ignorance is just too fun to make fun of..." Danny is coming out of the corner not going in. Danny was/is a dirt tracker. Dirt trackers don't "back it in" on the rear break (sic), in fact once-upon-a-time dirt trackers didn't even have any brakes. G |

Modulating rear wheel spin via brake has nothing to do with backing it in. |

Gotta kind of agree with Greg here. Look at how the front wheel is facing. That is classic flat tracking style of turning a bike coming out of a turn ON the gas. WOW! |

Blake, youre missing the point entirely. Your attitude of 'oh no, Im wrong, I need to try to turn this around and make someone else look bad' is terrible. YOU WERE WRONG Have you EVER seen anyone modulating the rear brake to control wheel spin to a point where the rotor was glowing? Heck, I dont recall seeing a FRONT brake glowing going deep into a turn before on a motorcycle (thinking back to the Daytona 200 a few years ago when they ran at night). Funny, 'your ignorance is just too fun to make fun of' when it was YOU that said it was the rear brake glowing. And yes, Mark, please while im 'napping' (where this came from I am completely unaware) post up more pictures from the test session if you can. |

I've seen front brakes on a motorcycle glowing... Can't remember where, but I've seen it. |

>>>>I've seen front brakes on a motorcycle glowing... Can't remember where, but I've seen it. You must have been there the day I did a celebrity delivery for Harley and the person's agent mouthed off to me. A classic . . and absolute classic. Danny Eslick can do things with a motorcycle that few folks can understand, believe or appreciate. It's the one of the reasonswhy he was hired. |

Seen the front rotor on my X1 glowing shortly after a failed attempt at getting air out of the brake lines. It smells pretty bad. |

I can swipe pics off Geoff's FB page too... Geoff's ride...
Danny showing off the big guns...
Danny heading out to the track...
I also remember seeing someone's rear brake glowing, it was Chris Carr's at Springfield (?) a million years ago, but it was just the compound of the pads.... |

"You must have been there the day I did a celebrity delivery for Harley and the person's agent mouthed off to me. A classic . . and absolute classic. " Im sure you dont want to say who the celebrity was, but Im curious - did they mouth off to you before the glowing or after? If before, why were they upset with you? Man, not much longer and the racing season will be back at it. Im so anxious to see Danny on the 1190 actually racing |

No problem . . . .the "celebrity" was a guy named "David Wells" . went by "Boomer" and apparently played for the Yankess. I'd been contacted to fly in, get the bike set up, get BOOMER airbrushed on the tank, I'd been contracted to arrange delivery to Macy's in Herald Square where it was to be given to him by a company called Fossil watches as part of a big promo campaign. I landed, found the bike, it'd been uncrated and the dealer had set it up. I did my initial inspection and was getting ready to do my test ride. My routine, which 1313 can tell you a bit more about, was fairly well developed and set in stone . . . basically I used the same thing I learned as a pilot in that I went through a checklist before I test road ANYTHING. This wasn't just an accident but be mindful that some of the stuff I used to test ride was "in development". My routine takes a few minutes to go through and I refused to deviate. I was putting on all my gear and the guys manager and the PR guy from Fossil, when they saw me putting on all the gear, laughed and said "are you dressing for winter" to which I replied "I'm paid to always dress for fall". The guy mumbled something under his breath and walked off . . . . I set out on the ride. The more I thought about it the more it irritated me. . . this guy wasn't even going to ride the bike anyway. I started wondering if I could get the front rotor to glow and just basically drug it with a single finger for about 5 miles. Sure enough it was cherry red and the lever was flopping against the grip. Problem was that the rotors on the bike were crappy material and gave up heat slowly . . . I had to ride around about 20 minutes to get ANY lever back. Anyway . . . I took it back . . . told them "this baby is a real monster", gave it to them, loaded my gear and headed to the airport. By the way . . . the same gear, during a day that produced some of the best Buell stories ever (some recall the tale of me getting simultaneously nailed by the CHP near WSMC) saved my ass when Ferris Bueller pushed tried to push me off a cliff on Angeles Crest Highway. :-) Replaced a sleeve and fixed the pants and we were off for the next adventure. Funniest part is that the suit came back from Aerostich with a note that said "No charge, we consider the stuff you and Erik send us as the best entertainment we can get" Be more careful" Fun times . .. thousands of stories. I may write a book. You'd love the tale about Ralph Lauren, the Penthouse photo shoot, or Forbes FYI magazine. |

I wish I was there to see it. It's not very far away. That's a fun track. I've observed the tarmac between ten and eleven VERY closely |
