I've made a few resolutions - I hate to use the "New Year's" qualifier as they were though of months ago, but resolutions none the less. I rode an abysmal amount last year - something close to half as many miles as I've ever ridden in a season before, and it made me a bit sick. This year will be different. My beloved S3T will soon have a beating heart again, and I fully intend to ride the damn wheels off of it. My 1.5 mile commute means daily riding isn't realistic, so I'm taking measures. I have roughly planned another x-country road trip, hopefully as far west as the Idaho/Oregon border. Should be good for about 6,000 miles. I'll be a "full-week" participant at Americade this year, the first time in years. At a minimum, that will be another 600 miles just getting from my house to Lake George and back each day, plus any day rides we do which should tag on another 400-500 miles. I'll be working on becoming an MSF Rider Coach. Between getting to the range and back for training, riding to the site somewhere in the state for certification and working a couple classes before the end of the year, we're looking at another 1400 miles or so. I may also ride to a little family vaca in Myrtle Beach... another 1600 miles round trip. Yes, this is going to be a good year. Anyone else have any plans to make it a good-one, riding-wise? |

Jealous of you guys - we have really warm weather up this way, too. I'd be riding a ton this winter, but I just sold my 1125 and the S3T is in pieces. Knowing my luck, we'll be getting dumped on with snow the weekend I button it back up. |

I put in for my vacations yesterday. This year starts with our 10th Annual Big Jim's Ride over Memorial Day Weekend. (BadWeBbers invited, look for thread in Storm Fronts soon) We'll be ending the touring season with a Fall trip to SD, WY, MT long after the mobs from Sturgis have dispersed. On the in between we'll be entertaining guests from the south for a long weekend of touring through the Hoosier countryside. (See the latest issue of Road Runner for the "Bridge Tour") We'll take at least one trip to Hillbilly Ed's to go knee dragging and weapons testing in Eastern Kentucky. Yep, gonna be a good year. |

I'm planning to ride over to VA Beach the week after memorial day to visit a friend, most likely on the Bonneville. |

I'm sure I'll get in a bunch of rides all over the northeast with Froggy and the rest of the badweb gang up here. Each trip is usually good for at least a few hundred miles. I plan to continue riding to work on most days again this summer (reserving cage use for when I'll have passengers or when the weather looks absolutely horrible). That adds up to ~90 miles a day round trip. Not sure where else I'll be heading this summer. I may end up in Michigan at the end of June - if so, I'll ride there as well. |

I miscalculated for the MSF stuff... 110 miles round trip times 3 trips per class times 7 classes, plus 2 long weekends to get certified "somewhere" in the state (figuring 300 miles round trip each time) and I'm looking at more like 2900 miles. Nice. |

Sounds like a nice plan there Mark.. Oregon, eh? Let me know when. Depending on what's going on, I might be able to meet up. So what are you having done/doing to the S3? |

I'll keep you in the loop, Asbjorn. Not set on dates yet (have a lot happening this summer), but I'll be coming from Glacier National Park, across Idaho, touching Oregon and heading back via Bonneville, then hopefully staying with a bueller in Colorado for a night or two. I don't think I'll actually be in Oregon any appreciable distance or for any appreciable amount of time, but we'll see. Front engine mount issues on the S3 kind of turned into a top end rebuild. All I need to do at this point is hone and measure the cylinders, gap the rings and put it all back together. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/659027.html?1326909107 |

After a too long hiatus from riding, I resolve to ride as much as I can. So far this year I've logged a few hundred miles, mostly around here, but a few runs to the hills. I'm planning on a trip to S.C. really soon to see a buddy of mine play his guitar, and have a much needed visit. Also I'm planning on the Big Jim's ride, this one is long over due. The Buells in the Alps II will be one not to miss either. I'm sure there's other events I'll attend, this year I'll be attending evens rather than planning any, if someone has a March Badness or Buelltoberfest, I'm sure I can squeeze them in. Yep, this year's a rider |

My Buell is also in pieces but as the plans stand now I have two tentative trips planned to D.C. and one to Missouri not to mention all the one dayers around here. We had a record amount of rain last year, something like 67" and I still managed 7K miles. All on the Kawi of course |

Sounds like some good plans and some good miles ahead Mark - Are you going to replace the CR? In the last few years I haven't really ventured much further than the immediate area surrounding home, and mainly roads I know, so one of my resolutions/plans for this year is to travel further afield, discover new roads and places, and to do as much of that on two wheels as possible I'd like to find some roads that Vamps enjoys and get her on two wheels more as well. I think if I can get her on a good riding course that might help her confidence on country roads. I'm hoping our travel plans will be along the lines of: "I heard about this place that does these amazing (favourite tourist attraction/food/beverage here)" "It's 300km away..." "We better get moving then!" I'd like to explore the backroads and towns along the state border to the south of us more too. "...from Glacier National Park, across Idaho, touching Oregon and heading back via Bonneville..." Ohhh, that would be cool... I was just talking to Asbjorn and I mentioned that one day I'd like to do a decent roadtrip in the US in a few years time... Maybe 2015? |

I'm moving, from less than a mile from work to about 17 miles...of awesome twisty mountain backroads. I'll be riding more this year |

Chili - no immediate plans for the CR... the original thought was to pick up an X1 in the near future and do a total custom cafe treatment on it, right down to laced wheels. We'll see, though... will take a little cash and I'm working on getting some debt down, first. By 2015, the only regions I will not have ridden would be the pacific coast north of LA and the deep south (TX to Alabama, Florida) though I have done the eastern seaboard as far south as Georgia. If you come for a trip, I'll meet you. I swear it. Rat - sounds awesome. I used to have a respectable commute, friends think I'm crazy that I miss it. |

The mpg of my Buell is it's saving grace. I certainly happy I'm no longer having to drive my 66 Cornet all over the place. The last show I took it to was a hundred miles away. That would take a little over a gallon on the Buell, the Cornet took more than 20! Not saying gas prices won't be a factor, just less of one than it could be for me. |

Me too, I'd like to meet you guys one of these days. I drive out past the salt flats occasionally but have never visited the races. Give me something to ride to, since work is only a couple miles from home. |

When you come out of Glacier, go South on US Rt. 93 to Missoula. then pick up US Rt. 12 West over Lolo Pass to Lewiston, ID. It's a *Magnificent* road; worth the trip all by itself. |
