Never needed them, but I've heard good things. Their motorcycle crates add a lot of safety to the bike in my expert opinion. | ||

I don't recall the company name, but HOG and BRAG newsletters had an ad from a company that does not crate, they have tie-down brackets up and down the floor of their trailer. They'll roll your bike on and off their truck and it will be ready to ride at your destination. | ||

Daily Direct was the one my old workplace used- I can't remember for sure, but I think they also can crate it for you. Or, what Elf said. | ||

I've used Haul Bikes. Price was very fair (same distance you covered was around $600 going off memory. You did not need to crate, drain gas, or anything like that. I will use them again if I ever need it. | ||

I just used JC Motors Motorcycle Transport. Price was reasonable ($511 OH --> MA). Truck driver met me down the road from my place. Rolled my bike onto a specially made support, tied it down, lifted it up into the truck via liftgate, and drove away. New owner of bike received it in 4 days looking just as it did when it left me. I have used ForwardAir Texas to Oregon. Was about $350 if I remember correctly. They provide a steel shipping container. You roll the bike in, strap it down, and put your own padlock on the container. I was pleased with their service. http://www.forwardair.com/ | ||

+1 on JC Motors. Like Invisible said, I did not have to do anything to the bike. They shipped as it was. Took about two weeks for me to get it once it was picked up. I am guessing it is all about the itinerary. | ||

I'll have to check, but I had to ship my Uly from FL to MD last year. No drain, no crate. They strapped it down front and rear and covered it - and I got to keep the cover!  I'll look and see if I can find the paperwork - that trip was a nightmare, start to finish, so I'm blocking most of it out lol | ||

Paposteve.com . Steve Parkhurst. I've moved three bikes with him now: Two to Arizona from North Carolina, and one from Arizona to Florida. Highest cost: $550. Retired guy, has his own trailer, no crate required and takes care of your stuff. Picks it up at your door, drops off at the door. He goes back and forth on the I-10 corridor, up and down the coasts (but not sure how far north in the winter). All deliveries within a week so far. Great guy. | ||

I've been tentatively scheduled to get a bike hauled to Michigan in early Feb. with Snortin Boar Transport. (Marc Springer). This will be my first experience with bike hauling. He comes highly recommended. I just hope his new found tv fame doesn't make him think he needs a raise.  I'll let you know how it goes. | ||

I've always been of the belief that the best way to transport a motorcycle from one place to another is to put gas in the tank, install a fully-charged battery, hit the starter button, and go... But that's just me.  | ||

I've successfully used www.uship.com a number of times. If your schedule is flexible and you do your homework in evaluating the various vendors, you can find a pretty reasonable service. You stipulate the type of shipping you want or need and the bidders have to pony up. | ||
