I got home about an hour ago. I camped in SC on Lake Marion after Michael and I hit a two hour traffic jam and the fan was burning up my buttocks.
I had a good ride home. It was alot cooler today. I also took a few detours between Chapel Hill and Fayetteville. Yeah, I got completely lost and ran into rain, but it was a good day to ride!!!
The highlight of my trip was meeting Danny Eslick and getting a photo of us both on his Hero pit bike. I will post details of what an incredible dork I was later when I get photos from Michael. I am still laughing at myself...
My brand new camera I was so excited about had room for only ten photos and I didn't feel like chasing down a memory stick. I got a few good ones on my phone I will try to post up later.
Ooooooooooooooooooooohhhhh, I also got an EBR shirt from one of the Hero managers and I got it signed by Geoff May, Danny Eslick and Erik Buell!!! Ha ha ha ha ha...
It was fun meeting some new Buelligans and seeing some old friends too! |

Nicely equipped
As usual, some vendors were set up in front of the speedway. We did not do demo rides this year but if we did, this is probably the only bike I would have wanted to ride...
It's pretty awesome in blue
Love the yellow on these older ducs. I'd be terrified of the valve adjustments though. More riding + less down time and expense = happiness.

The only thing that matters is that the bike you are on works for you.
At the rate our son was growing, the K 75 was getting too small for long rides. If it weren't for me observing my boss fearlessly hopping on her tall bikes with her ONE good leg (amputee), I may have never considered riding something as tall as the Uly. The XT had better features for me than the X.
Females on Sport touring bikes are rare, at least in my world. It was neat seeing Rubberdown's wife on her tall beemer this past weekend.
Females on any Buell are are a rare breed, and not everyone agrees, but I think its a cool faction to be part of. Babired is the only other female I am aware of who rides a Uly and hopefully someday the stars will align and three of us will be at the same Buell event because that would be a hoot. |

Hey girls- I've a couple of friends who run a local D/S outfitters shop, both are uber-gearheads, brainiacs, and just super good peeps- one just happens to be chromosome XX, a MUCH better rider than moi, with her racer's license- rode the 1125R at Barber with me at its dealer intro and complained things were too slow until she got to follow Tripp Nobles (!!!)- she's not tall, and may, no, WILL have good input on addressing wimmins on tall bikes...

Badweb is a better place today because I used good judgment and left that ensemble at home. Unfortunately, many at Daytona and elsewhere do not.  |

Had a great ride to and from Bike Week. Had a total blast there as well. Flat track, RR, vintage bikes, night rides, mainstreet, .... will be back next year.
Ran into a friend at the Buell pits during the fan walk. ...

The Buell pits were empty during the fan walk ... what's up with that? I grabbed a poster and signed it myself.
I was blown away by Elena Meyers in the SS race!
Caught up with her during the anthem prior to the 200.
Riding there and back was great. Mostly backroads on the way down and on the way back we stayed entirely off the interstate. What a joy! Great roads and scenery and weather! Spent the night in Statesboro GA thinking of the Allman Brothers and eating great food.
Cruised through the BadWeb campsite a couple of times. Met Flatwistygirl and her Dude (sorry I forgot name).
