I'm a Broncos fan, have been for a long time. I'm also a cautiously interested follower of the Tebow saga. Watching him throw the ball scares the crap out of me every time. His form looks like something from a high school powderpuff game. That being said, nobody can deny that the man's short record shows some pretty impressive results.
His faith impresses me a lot, mainly the fact that he is unashamed, and appears to live it as much as he preaches it.
I'm a little apprehensive about the whole "Jesus is a Broncos fan" thing, I think it's a bit shallow. At the same time, there's no doubt in my mind that Tebow has been, and is currently being rewarded for his hard work, humility, and genuine testimony.
"We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer. People may be pure in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their motives. Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed."
Proverbs 16:1-3 NLT
Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.
Psalm 37:5 NLT
True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life.
Jesus ALWAYS favors the heaviest artillery in warfare, it must be the same in football.
I can see calling in artillery, "Let us pray... Dear God, please give us two more tubes of 155mm, HEDP because we have multiple closely-grouped targets. We ask in Jesus' name, Amen."
I don't think Jesus is gonna play that game either.
He played a very good game. Hit the open guy and made them pay for blitzing the safeties all the time. Not always the prettiest passes but plenty good enough. Guess the Steelers plan was not the right one!
So football stats PROVE the second coming? The rapture? That I'm damned to hell for not "believing in Tebow" or believing that he is just a darn good ballplayer who happens to be truly religious (and the MEDIA is pumping him up way beyond where even TEBOW wants to go)
I've been a Steelers fan since I can remember. That's the first game I didn't mind so much seeing them lose. Tebow and his receivers and linemen just plain beat the Steelers. That man is the real deal, 245 LBs of get out of my way or else.
I'm just disgusted with the media making it such a deal and all the idiots reading/watching this as if it is "news" making it out to be something it is not. EVEN TEBOW has said that Jesus doesn't micro manage ball games. People are making him out to be something other than a ballplayer - something that he never asked for.
I'm more and more glad that it's now more than 15 years since owning my last television set. At least reading the news you can be more selective.
My snide remarks are directly aimed at the suckers who are putting words in Tebow's mouth and deeds on Tebow's back.
I watched him time and time again pull off miracles here in Gainesville at Florida football games, met him several times and he is a total class act. Not a better young man/ role model out there right now.
Same here - whole family is from the 'burgh, it was kind of required.
We may have 6 rings, but I was in the stands for the Pitt / Clevland game and the Steeler's were not showing as a team that had thier s**t together. It was a good game for the first and last 5 minutes. The middle was just a mess.
I haven't seen the Tebow game yet. I don't want to, lol. I'm surprised my grandfather didn't have a stroke! (My grandpa is the type to watch the Stillers win a super bowl and bitch and moan that they didn't do it good enough, so when they're bad, he's in a REAL bad mood.)
I think the results of the game prove beyond a shadow of doubt the Jews are correct. Saturday is the sabbath - not Sunday. Had this game taken place on Sunday God would have been at the office to answer Tebow's prayers.
