I'm looking for a ball valve jet nozzle to put on a garden hose. I've found jet nozzles, and ball valve nozzles, but not many ball valve JET nozzles. I found two on amazon. Like this:

I'm looking for a high quality one that will last. Thanks for any help!

Get a ball valve - Get a jet nozzle - Screw them together.

Ball valves are miserable for throttling - Doesn't matter if the valve is integral w/ the nozzle or separate. - If you want to maximize flow put a lg. of hoz between them, give the flow a chance to straighten out.

What he said.

If you want it to use more practically use a length of threaded pipe between the jet & the valve rather than hose, like a wand.

I presume that, like me, you want a ball valve because it's all or nothing in a 1/4 turn & you rarely use any setting between the two.

They make large ball valves now, like 1/2 inch instead of 1/4 inch hole. Much better for jet nozzles.

I use one of these hoses. It has a larger diameter than a regular garden hose.

It provides more pressure and volume to the nozzle by reducing friction loss in the hose. Works with hot water too.

4 yrs old...A+

The "never-kink" hose is great for preventing kinks; but the internal lengthwise ribbing adds significantly to flow resistance. Commercial quality 3/4" offers optimum flow.

Trying to find a decent nozzle is frustrating. They all seem to be made-in-China junk. Hmmm, business opportunity?

I have one like this. (not this exact one, but looks identical, and very well may be)

I don't know what's wrong with people these days, we always made do with a thumb on the end of the hose.

Blah blah blah nostalgia's not what it used to be back in my day, you kids don't know when you're well off....

Get off my lawn....

Okay, I'm needing this for my job at the city pound. I spray out kennels, and trust me 50 dogs can put out a lot of crap. Putting my thumb over the hose in the winter for long periods of time is something I'm not man enough to do. Not gonna HTFU for that.

I'm liking the wand idea, but don't think the city will pop for a $50 set up.

Does the City's hose have a coupling on the end?

If so make your own wand, I wouldn't think it'd be very expensive, & take it with you.

Alternatively try & find an old firehose reel.
I expect the city's maintenance section would have something.

>>>I expect the city's maintenance section would have something.

Sadly no. I'm grateful for my job, and am enjoying it. NEVER EVER thought I enjoy cleaning dog shit for minium wage, 24 hours a week. But the job has its rewards. That said, expecting the city to have or come up with much of anything is pointless.

The smaller built in ball valves are nice because they allow me to stick the nozzle through the kennel fences to clean out the one in front of me before going into it, and getting into tight spaces on the indoor kennels. I think I'm just going to go with a straight jet nozzle, and ball valve behind it as some have suggested. I might even hook up a quick disconnect and take it home every day.

This is what I use for quick clean-up of the shop floor when I don't want the over spray of the pressure washer. Works good and was in the half off bin at CVS.
