I don't get into the sippin' stuff very often but I do like seasonal beers. I had this stuff in Atlanta last year and it was awesome:

sippin'? Sippin'?? I've never sipped on a spirit drink. Maybe one or two medium sips to test for taste, then more like gulps. |

Vodka's for gulping. I "gulped" ice picks last night. Usually prefer them in the summer, but I was in the mood. Super sweet ice tea Orange Stoli Vodka (don't both with the Grey Goose) Slice of orange. Careful, they sneak up on you. Especially the 100 proof stuff I used last night. |

Wow, Guell- the reason I like Maker's so well is its distinctive taste- now, it I can only find a 375ml, dang if it aint expensive! Jeremy- IIRC Ketel One has an orange version too, never much cared for Stoli... Hmmm. Haven't had an icepick in a while, sounds yummy... |

There are "better" vodkas for other drinks, but the orange taste is off and clashed with the tea. I've tried Ketel One, Grey Goose, and others. Stoli just has the best flavor. I also prefer it for the other junk drink, Cherry Bombs. |

Wanna do Cherry Bombs use Cherry Dr. Stoli is no doubt a great Vodka. But Goose will always kick its but as whole. Wanna try a great vodka??? 44 North huckleberry vodka. They have a cherry also but not so great. |

Stoli is like margarita Tequila. You'd NEVER use Clase Azul to make a garden variety margarita. Now if you are making a Martini, use the good stuff. I could never justify polluting the good stuff by adding something else. |

Jose Cuervo is margarita tequila. You HAVE to put it in a margarita or it's neigh undrinkable. I wouldn't think of corrupting an 18 year single malt with ginger ale. |

Nothing. I guess my point was there are simply spirits that are unique and special and those flavors are hindered by adultering them with other things. Then there are spirits that are unremarkable enough that I just don't feel bad adding stuff to make a nice beverage. There are others that you just can't dring without adding something. I've got a couple pints of 180 proof moonshine that is undrinkable without copious amounts of whatever the hell you can find. |

Not much of it. Then you'd get happy feet and need to take a nap real quick. |

Agreed, the best vodka, is colorless, orderless, nearly absent of flavor and hits you like a Zil Anti AirCraft APC - never mix it with anything, just chill it and serve in Rumku 100 gram shot glasses from the old country. (about 3.5 oz) if you mixin - then yes, the rock gut of Stoli will do nicely. This is the season for camogon - the Russian 'home self brew' it is my most favorite gift of the holidays to give or receive. |

Always have at least 2 bottles of Scotch open here, a cheapish blended such as Grants or similar for mixing (I prefer 7up or Sprite) & some aged single malt for savouring, with a little water to bring out the flavour or an ice cube if you really really must. Currently in the bar we have a Grants (nearly empty must remember to get more), a 12yr old Cardhu & a 12yr old Glenfiddich. |

I prefer the Irish whiskey over the Scotch. I guess it is distilled more but to me it has a cleaner more refreshing taste. I should say however it depends on which whiskey either way. I like Tallamore's Dew and Powers but not Jameson or Bushmills. I enjoy some Scotch whiskey though. Even with Burbon I find a wide variety in taste not always the more expensive the better however. |

Years ago we knew an old moonshiner in Mississippi who sold us a one gallon plastic milk jug of shine. He also gave us a small paper bag of wood shavings. We asked him what the shavings were for. He said if we wanted we could put the shavings in the jug of shine for awhile to give the shine some color and a little flavor. |
