 BB&T Field, Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina USA December 3rd, 2011  ~ Carlee ~  ~ Baylee ~ Ayden-Grifton (NC) High School played their hearts out in today's AA high school football championship game in Winston-Salem, but came up just a tick short at the end. What a fun weekend we had! We started with dinner at Prior and Heather's house Friday night. Yummy burgers and dogs on the grill! Saturday brought a hard played game for our Chargers. While they didn't bring home the big trophy, we are all bursting with pride for the accomplishment they did make! They are the first team from Ayden Grifton to make it to the state playoffs. What an experience for the entire team and school alike. Jerry really captured my children in his pictures! Carlee, our teenager, is a cheerleader and as shown, usually has her cell phone close at hand! Baylee is our middle child. She is my mini me and is as sweet as that picture is of her. Luke...well, he's our little boy that is very much the clown. He makes me very tired some days! Thanks again to FB&D for coming to the ballgame and helping us cheer for our Chargers. Now we move to basketball season. Wonder how they will do! Charlotte - you know you love that shirt! | ||

The final score was 14-20. We went into half time down 0-14. In the third quarter we tied the game 14-14. Unfortunately we had some mistakes and our boys have never played on turf, so footing was also an issue. They didn't run out of talent, just out of time. We are all still so proud of this team and their coaches. Carlos still had a voice. I purchased jingle bells for Baylee and Luke. Baylee rang them so hard she lost 7 out of the 8 bells on her two straps! The cow bells got a good work out though! My hand still hurts. | ||

Kristi, you and Carlos were both workin' yer cell phone texting plans pretty hard during the game!  Cool thing about that pic of Carlee above: That was in the tunnel behind our section right after the game, and she was on the phone with Carlos making sure he knew exactly where she was. Cool stuff. Your kids are great - happy, healthy, polite, bright and inquisitive. I took three photos of Carlee in the tunnel, and each time she gave - and held - that beautiful smile seen above. There's a ton of happiness, poise and confidence going on there. I LOVE the portrait shot of Baylee. Denise and I are both flabbergasted at how much she's grown since the last time we saw your kids here at the house. I love her look in the photo, also very much brimming with confidence, maturity and poise. You don't alway see that in children, but it's truly wonderful when you do. She never flinched as I was locking in the focus and exposure on that shot, just held that precious, innocent yet "I've got it going on" look. Love it. In all the commotion after the game, me 'n D missed Luke's "look" when we took the family portrait, and it wasn't until that evening, sitting around the campfire and editing pix from the day, that we saw his "photo bomb," as Char so aptly called it. We both laughed so hard I thought we were gonna pee!! Go Luke!! You guys have a great family, and I know you're both very proud of your kids. The First Family of BW!!! ?? Works for me.
