Saturday, December 1, 1979, 10:00am Two lovers stand in front of the preacher. It's just the three of them in one of the church's meeting rooms. All three are wearing their Sunday best. She had picked out the rings. He had bought a corsage but had forgotten to buy altar flowers for the ceremony. Someone from the church had been kind enough to place a nice arrangement on the credenza. The pastor spoke, read from the Bible, and asked questions. The couple answered yes, I will, and I do. Rings were exchanged. They kiss. The journey begins, the two lovers are husband and wife, two become one. We hit the road for the three hour drive to San Antonio and stay overnight at the Hilton on the river. Had a wonderful time. Seemed like everyone was especially nice to us. Back to work Monday morning. Broke the news to the folks. All were pleased but her mom was a little disappointed about not getting to see the wedding so she threw us a shindig a few weeks later. I was 26, my bride 24. What a ride. The time has flown by. My sweet beautiful wife is a gift, a great blessing, and more. Hope I can help make the next 32 years together her favorite and finest. |

Congrats Ron, each day my wife gives me something to smile about. 23 years ago, we'd been living together for a couple of years. She tells me one night that it's time to get married. I say that things are going great, what will I have after I get married that I don't have now? She says "You'll have a wife". Hard to argue with that logic. A few years later she tells me "If you buy me a Cadillac and I quit my job, I won't put many miles on it." So I think for a minute and say "Let me get this straight. You're going to quit a job that pays $20K a year, I'm going to spend $35K on a new car and somehow I'll be better off? Just how long did you think on this one?" When she gets together with her friend (they're both born and raised in postwar Japan) it get hilarious. |

could you see any illegals crossing the border from the room! Dude, that's funny. San Antonio is about 150 miles from the Mexican border. Check this out, it's a cool place. I visited when my daughter graduated from air force basic training.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Antonio_River_Wal k |

Whistler- go find a copy of the "Notorious Cherry Bombs", look for the song "Memories of Us". Play for your better half. Barring that, "Sparkle and Shine" by Steve Earle will do.
