That! Takes the price in incompetent journalism. As told, the story was totally incomprehensible. |

I agree. I came away from that feeling like I was way to uninformed to have any opinion. |

That article is very confusing... I managed to get this out of it on the first pass... Mother jaywalks with toddler and son, son darts across street. Man in van strikes son (or all of them? not sure?) and kills her son. Man in van gets 6 months in jail while Mother gets up to 3 years for jaywalking. Then there's the trial stuff at the beginning. Horridly written article. |

Yeah sorry badly written. I read 3-4 pieces about it. Basically mom and kids are crossing street that by all accounts is being done legally according to Ga. Law. Guy in van is on pills + booze + partially blind in one eye for some reason is driving.... witnesses state that he accelerated into the pedestrians stiking 3 killing one. Mom is the one wearing the weight. Legal system disfunction... |

If "jaywalking" is legal there, how does the mom get charged and convicted for the jaywalking offense? Something still doesn't add up. |

Iirc the main charge was reckless endangerment. In any case seems like a prosicuter gone off the leash. Or there's a lot more that's not in print as of yet |
