I believe the answer is "no" , but I'm going to ask the question anyway: Will a 1995 S2 front wheel w/disk rotor fit on a 2000 M2 with no changes apart from the wheel and maybe the axle swap? Just thinking out loud. And for anyone wondering, my 4 year old step-granddaughter had a cancer scan last week or so and it came up negative. Amazing, crazy, stressfull year for all involved. For those who don't know, last year close to this time she was diagnosed with cancer and a Wilm's tumor (or something like that), she had a tumor removed that was about the size of a football, was on her deathbed several times, didn't know if she'd see her 4th birthday last Spring, and now she's doing basicaly fine. apart from that I'm still looking for work as my contract/temp job winds down, and am wondering if the S2 wheel will fit on the M2. Thanks. |

Mike,I don't know why it wouldn't work. All the tuber wheels are interchangable and the rotors are the same diameter. |

Yes, it will fit. I put a set of M2 wheels on my S2 no prob and Spiderman (Tony) put his M2 wheels on his S2. |

Excellent, thanks. The inverted forks on the S2 was throwing me, and the flash-rusting aspect of the S2's rotor were making me think they'd be different. Will the speedo cable drive on the S2 be an issue? I was sitting there at work today, needing a front tire for the M2 since it's my only running bike right now, and knowing that the Subaru is 70,000+ miles overdue for a timing belt replacement, and was planning my options in case the timing belt breaks and eats the valves and what'd I'd do to get to work during my final weeks there. It's amazing how fast one can put over 100,000 miles on a car sometimes. Thanks again. |

You could always do the timing belt on the Scooby yourself. http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f66/timing -belt-replacement-diy-tips-47688/ I've done various different belts over the years & there's no real mystery about it, you may need some "special tools" for alignment I usually find a bolt that I can slip in or make what I need. As the guy in the article says print out the info & take your time. |

I just noticed it's a '00 M2. Not a problem, but you will have to make sure to use the spacers for the M2 on the S2 wheels when you put them on the M2 and vice versa. The spacers make up the size difference between having and not having a speedo drive. (Message edited by Phelan on November 22, 2011) |

Yep, plan on doing the belt, idlers, and water pump at home myself, found a similar thread on subaruoutback.org. Another site refers to the Sub's as Lego Cars. I'll keep the spacers in mind. I would just get a new tire but the Subaru parts took my spare change, so the wheel swap will be a short term quick fix which hopefully won't be necessary. But good to know I can do it if needed. Always good to have a backup plan in place. |
