I paid $15 for entry into the show. It's well worth it. I imagine the rent on the Dallas Convention Center isn't cheap. Free Enterprise is good. The EBR 1190RS was a real attention magnet. Being able to sit on it was fantastic. What an incredible machine. |

NYC is worse yet at $18 and somewhere I have photos of folks lined up for 2 blocks waiting to get into Javit's Center. If you are going in NYC (I haven't been in several years) I'd suggest picking up tickets online and saving the $2. But then . . . . I'm tighter than the nuts on a switch engine. Cycle World used to sponsor the "Owner's Ride" pavilion but they are no longer involved to the best of my knowledge . . .but then, I am no longer involved either. I am kind of surprised to see that Cycle World doesn't even have a booth at any of the California shows. For those who haven't been it's a fun time. I traveled, on my own for fun, to all the shows in the country for 2 years and it was fun to meet so many folks. I used to organize Buell rides at the various venues I'd attend each year. That's where I first met folks, like Denise, nearing 14 years ago. Fun stuff. |

By the way , , , if you are in the NYC area and have not been . . . the show at Javits Center is fun . . . . it's the size of the LA, San Fran and Chicago shows COMBINED and this is the one that EVERYBODY shows for. Fun, indeed. Used to be fun at Harley . . . when they were assigning folks to work shows . . . folks would all fight to attend Javits. There were a couple very interesting tales of HD folks in NYC. Records are now expunged.. |

I have to say, I think my all time favorite venue was the one during Daytona Bike Week in March. Outdoors, usually in pleasant weather and FREE ADMISSION. The NYC Javits show is one of the few times I'll ride into Manhattan. Early Sunday morning is not TOO hateful, and I can usually find free parking somewhere in the vicinity (even though those bastards did away with the free motorcycle parking right on the grounds). The weather the past couple of years haven't been conducive to riding into the City, however. Hoping for better this January. |

The parking at the Javits is what suprised me back in 2001, $30 no matter how long. Guido was not having any of my negotiating. THAT was a racket. |

Blake, they only charged you $30 because of your accent! Street parking is free and plentiful in most areas, I've even chained my Blast to a large mailbox for good measure once. |
