Official OWS Grievances:

-They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage.
-They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses.
-They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the workplace based on age, the color of onefs skin, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.
-They have poisoned the food supply through negligence, and undermined the farming system through monopolization.
-They have profited off of the torture, confinement, and cruel treatment of countless animals, and actively hide these practices.
-They have continuously sought to strip employees of the right to negotiate for better pay and safer working conditions.
-They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right.
-They have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workersf healthcare and pay.
-They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility.
-They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance.
-They have sold our privacy as a commodity.
-They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press.
-They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profit.
-They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce.
-They have donated large sums of money to politicians, who are responsible for regulating them.
-They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil.
-They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save peoplefs lives or provide relief in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantial profit.
-They have purposely covered up oil spills, accidents, faulty bookkeeping, and inactive ingredients in pursuit of profit.
-They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.
-They have accepted private contracts to murder prisoners even when presented with serious doubts about their guilt.
-They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad.
-They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas.
-They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government contracts.*

To the people of the world,

We, the New York City General Assembly occupying Wall Street in Liberty Square, urge you to assert your power.

Exercise your right to peaceably assemble; occupy public space; create a process to address the problems we face, and generate solutions accessible to everyone.

To all communities that take action and form groups in the spirit of direct democracy, we offer support, documentation, and all of the resources at our disposal.

Join us and make your voices heard!

*These grievances are not all-inclusive.

Seems like every generation needs to learn at great cost.

This video clip is Milton Friedman interviewed by Phil Donahue on the subject of greed and capitalism.

true then.. true today .. true tomorrow

xdigitalx: please cite your source.

Looks like the Obamavilles are being dismantled all over the country. Their only alternatives remaining are violence....or to seek a job commensurate with their skills. Either way, these snowflakes are desperate.

quote:

To all communities that take action and form groups in the spirit of direct democracy,

It is astounding how many Americans slept through civics class and fail to recognize that direct democracy is nothing more than mob rule.

Or in other words: a wolf, a bear, and a sheep voting on what is for dinner.

Clueless, tentless, and desperate. Just what Obama wants and needs for 2012.

America is a Constitutional Republic, not a direct democracy.

Xdigitalx , WHO IS THEY ?

The THEY , would be US . As in you and me , and them .

The OWS crowd voted for the things THEY now protest against for voting for or not paying attention to the people that were being voted for .

The people and things they voted for are the cause of the problem .Now they want more !?

So potus uses rhetoric calling on ows protestors to up their angers so to speak(correct if inaccurate ) but his administration warns citizens to be cautious and suspecting of retired vets, libertarians, ron paul supporters and people with dont tread on me bumper stickers etc.?

and suddenly it occured to me the protestor at the park in new york taking a dump on the street is now qualified to run this ever changing country based on the 08 election.

I can agree with some of those points the XD posted.

-They have poisoned the food supply through negligence, and undermined the farming system through monopolization. Thanks in part to laws and subsidies granted by the federal gov't. :/

-They have sold our privacy as a commodity. Again, thanks in part to laws that allow them to do so.

-They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce. They're griping about the federal gov't here, right?

-They have donated large sums of money to politicians, who are responsible for regulating them. Now they're griping about unions?

-They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil. Okay, that's loony nonsense there.

-They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people's lives or provide relief in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantial profit. Ah, there we have it, Marxism. Patents no more?

-They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media. They're talking about leftists and their almost total control of the mainstream media? Cool.

Some legitimate beefs in that list, but if they think private enterprise has done a good job at those affronts, just ***wait*** what an organized federal government can do when it takes them over...

(It reads like something I would expect a high school freshman class would come up with... so naive and uninformed)

I don't know who "THEY" are. I do know that ... if you ask them a dumb or simple question, they'll call you a 1%'er or a TOOL. I hope it rains hard and the temp drops more than 20 degrees.

Be mindful they are NOT occupying "public space". If they were they would not be allowed to remain after dusk, when public parks close.

They are squating on private property by the grace of an kind and patient owner.

Some of the things are the list are valid. Their means are stupid, cloud the vision of those not used to thinking for themselves and move us further from solutions.

No problem has ever been resolved by means of a lazy asshoke, augmented by criminals, sitting on their asses in a park.

oh, I wondered why they didn't just move to Central park or another bigger park. Everyone knows about the movement or whatever it is called..., so all they really need now is a desk or stand with 4-6 people handing out pamphlets promoting their cause instead of acting like children who didn't get their ice cream.... or voters who didn't get their Gore.

That video pissed me off,... but then I laughed when I saw the musicians. Maybe they will be a new YT sensation.

I like going to OWS forums and stating I am sending my donations to the NYPD.

Blake that's been my point from the beginning. The Occupiers may have started as idealists following an internet thing out of Canada, but they were drowned out pretty quick by totalitarian marxists. Support was instantly given by "one world" ( commie ) SEIU leaders and praised by the Comrade in Chief.

Other than the one thing we can all agree on, that politicians take bribes, and that's not a good thing, most of the rest is religious dogma proven evil.

The solutions to the one agreed on problem, ( you may agree with something else "they" claim to be for, but someone else will not ) are all backwards and destructive.

Given the problem of "politicians take bribes" trying to steal from everyone, briber or not, is wrong. Fire all the politicians and try again is NEVER a solution the Occupiers come up with, so they are not real. Astroturf. Paid protesters. The Brown Shirts of Obama. ( oops sorry, I mean Purple )

Consider the Oath of Enlistment:

"I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

Which side do you believe the OWS folks fall upon in the defense of the Constitution of the United States?

It's time we started to realize that citizenship doesn't automatically exclude one from being an enemy of the United States.
