The hourly figure doesn't really apply - the IRS doesn't mandate that you have to work 60hrs/week to earn $67k/yr - that was a decision you made. All they care about it what you're earning, regarldess of how effort you put into it.
What DOES apply is the percentages.
Your gross increased 85%.
Your take home increased only 41%.
THAT'S a problem.
Where do the hours put in matter? Take my job. I'm sort of lucky in that my job is 40 hours a week, sometimes a bit more but nothing major. If I got a raise or promotion and that added income was taxed at 99%, I'd still take it because I'm still going to be here working 40 hours a week.
But someone who works hourly and who's income is proportional to the hours they put in may find that at a certain point there's a level of diminishing returns so great that they aren't willing to put in any more effort. |

No i think that would lie with you. You and those that feel it's OK to label someone with a negative label ie Fascist with the intent to discredit them and paint their views in a negative light.
I am clearly not a Fascist and never have been.
oh by the way please tell me where I HAVE EVER exulted one Nation or RACE and suggested we should be controlled by a dictator.

I make the same whether I work 40 or 80 hours. I sometimes miss being a Teamster where overtime kicked in at 6 hours |

Interesting. Accepting what you say as correct, I still don't see hypocrisy. Blake's point however (he can certainly correct me if I'm wrong) was that class warfare is a tactic used by fascist regimes to gain control. Drawing a line to separate the top 1% of earners and demonizing them is in fact a fascist tactic. Factually pointing out that someone is using a fascist tactic is simply pointing out the truth. Many people employ fascist tactics without being a 100% devotee to a fascist regime. There are many examples within our own government that we see daily. Perhaps you should reconsider the title of this thread if you don't want to be seen as employing fascist methods. Just sayin'.

Overtime kicked in after 6 hrs .?
Thats a topic for another thread .
I get paid by the hour , at work .
I get paid the contract price in my own business . If I bid it for 60 and it takes 70 or 80 hrs. I loose .
Im a 99% , Have been all my life and will be for the rest of it .
I dont begrudge people making big money ,never worked for a poor person in my life . Unless I saw fit to help them out .
Drkside, I know were you are coming from .
As a collective body we have let this happen .And have no one to blame but ourselves .
Get and be informed buy more than one or three sources and vote .
Some people you just cant change ,so focus on the ones you can . |

I don't mean to say that you are fascist, not at all. I mean that the tactic of trying to coopt such disingenuous statistics to make a "movement" appear widely supported and against a small minority, the one percent left, THAT is fascist garbage. I think you are above it. Just looking out for you. Don't associate yourself with that kind of miserableness. It's nothing but trouble. |

Dark the point of me having companies is to have the Jet and time off so I can enjoy life with my family. THERE IS NO OTHER REASON THAN THAT!
I work harder and have more risk and responsiblity than any of my employees had or have. So thats why I can have homes in several states the only toy I lack is a Cessna Caravan on floats. When most folks were chasing tail at football games and getting high drunk etc I worked and went to school. My hobbies demand more effort than most peoples jobs.
When I hire employees they get paid based on ability qualifications attitude and productivity that along with what the market will bear for that product or work. All of these have direct bearing on how valuable they are Productivity Quality of work along with attitude toward the work and customers.
Have a jealous pissy attitude toward the work and company and your history no matter how much money you bring in. Bad attitudes are like Cancer you cut it out ruthlessly. Want more money move thru the postions better education more money
Workers that want big bucks for low skill set jobs are in for a rude suprise.
We computerized all of our office systems 30 years ago Eliminated 5 back office people an Computers dont whine and bitch about each other. Computer upgraded twice cost over life cycle 67K removing 5 nasty employees houses boats vacations etc I win. As soon as Honda has service tech robot I can supervise over the web I ll never employ another human. |

Drkside, I have a number of issues with your initial statement, but I'll stick to one here.
Charity deductions were started as a way to make it affordable to do charity. By not paying taxes on money you don't keep, ( seems fair ) that lets you give without hurting yourself as much. Seems like a good idea to me.
When Uncle Sugar takes the money from you and gives it to another, that is not charity. It might make the politician that wrote the law to take your money feel better about himself, but do you really think a Congressman needs an ego boost?
True, Churches long ago lobbied for charity deductions. Seems logical to me. It's how they survive. But Charities today are often not Churches, but well meaning groups trying to help people.
Charity deductions are disliked by some because they feel the Holy State is to be the only font of wisdom & largess.
That is itself a religious cult that certainly doesn't deserve your support.... but you have no choice, since they will ultimately send men with guns to arrest you and hold you in prison if you fail to "donate" what they demand.
Since 78%+ of every dollar taken from you by the Feds is absorbed by the bureaucracy before it can do any good for anyone else, woudn't it make more sense to give it yourself to a group that wastes less? |

The Caravan is GIANT Skywagon with a P&W Turbo prop on floats Does the yacht thing and the palne thing. Jimmy Buffet has one the first ones Jimmy has 4 or 5 sea planes. He has to he splash lands one every couple of years. Denny Sherman has put his grandkids through college on Jimmys oops landings shermanaircraftsales.com |

My nephew worked at Jet aviation during college and fueled Jimmys planes.
He used to hang out at a old time hunting fishing store in West Palm Beach
One day after buying a Otter he ordered a Single action 45 long Colt. Have to have a old style guy for the the old style plane. Nice guy low key around town. |

The Caravan is awesome!!
I'm digging that little Cessna TT as well. In some ways .... It does for e what the original Citation SP did.
I'll bet we have a lot of licensed pilots here. |
