Has been to the Joshua Tree Inn on 29 Palms in Joshua Tree recently? Just wondered if it was still even open for business. and then what kind of "luxury" accommodations one might find at this specific property. Long range plans for possible journey next summer. The direction/destination still up in air but I've always wanted to visit this little place of the world. |

I'm not so sure you want to be there in the summer, maybe April or early May. |

It's a national park Maggie, it'll be there and it is always open. Keep in mind what Strokizator said though, could be hot. Although weather patterns in Socal have been off the past 2-3 years. Cooler than normal. Could be safe up until early to mid-June. Plenty of camping in the park: http://www.nps.gov/jotr/planyourvisit/index.htm Some people don't like the desert, but it is a peaceful place and the best place to see the universe at night. |

Thanks ya'll. Being into music I had wanted to combine my summer motorcycle adventure with a pilgrimage of sorts to the actual Joshua Tree Inn. My brother in law has written many songs about Gram Parsons and I could see after a long days ride sitting back in the courtyard, with my tunes softly in the background, sipping a bourbon looking at all those stars I can't see at night from here. The heat will be acceptable, I rode through death valley in July several years ago. Went from freezing in very early am to HOT HOT HOT, made the ride more interesting. I appreciate the information and your input. Happy Trails to you...}} |
