Pabst is hipster, indeed. When available, I like Utica Club ... that is, when I'm in the mood for a crappy American lager. |

Just because hipsters usurp something, you shouldn't necessarily abandon it. The hipsters will move on to the next trend soon enough. PBR was around long before it was hip, and will be around after the hipsters find the newest groovy beverage. |

Yeah Hipsters suck. I've been drinking PBR tall boys from time to time for quite a while. For one reason only. When i go down town i can get a 16Oz can of it for 2 to 5 bucks as opposed to 5 to 12 bucks for other drinks. |

My grandfather used to drink PBR warm from the glass in his left hand, with a warm glass of Old Granddad Whiskey in his right hand. We'd sit there and watch the fights with the sound turned off and he would call out the action. Good times. |

Back in the days wherein I may or may not have participated in mass consumption of products like beer.....I could have had classifications of 'effect to intoxication levels' for many brands of beers. Fortunately I(if I ever did) no longer participate in the testing required to get that close to such knowledge. PBR was on the not good end of the scale. A person(random of course) could drink this stuff to a point just short of severe intoxication when the headache would start, the stomach convulsions, the dehydration, and even vomiting while still not done consuming. That is right, a person could consume this product right into a full on hang over with no time lapse for a serious drunken buzz. And of course, said person would totally feel like shit the entire next day.....unless that(unknown)person were to resume consuming a similar beverage the next morning. Other brands may have had similar effects, but there was a limit to how much consuming of cheep beers could be done by one volunteer testing agent(from what I have heard). |
