Yeah, I'd love to open a White Castle locally- grew up on Krystals, which are structurally identical, but the workers at WC are technically much better- if I get a cheese Krystal, I expect 20% or more of the cheese to be stuck to the bottom of the box, grrrr - now the WC is a must-stop! Frogs, if you can eat a burger that big and have a buddy that can do 15 patties, why aren't youn's challenging Kobayashi or something in a contest!? You could do 30 Krystals, your bud mebbe 60!

I once ate 20 Krystals...but that was in '72 and I may have been using an appetite enhancing agent at the time |

Back in my college days, after doing $20 worth of "Quarter Beers" at the local tavern, my buddy and I stopped at White Castle and downed 18 burgers APIECE. I've never even gotten close to that number since. Typical these days is four regular burgers and four jalapeno cheese burgers. |

Ummm... yeah.... 5 guys is crazy overpriced. Froggy, you must be rich if you like spending $9.70 for a small burger, fries and a coke... The damn DRINK is $2.00. That's just a straight JACK move right there... What Wendy's have you ever seen that charges $2 for a 20 oz. drink? Or how about $4.29 for a "little cheeseburger"? You decadent imperialist! LOL |

Pwnzor, last time I got a Baconator meal medium, it was $12.22 according to my credit card receipt. You used to live in Californya, you know everything is more expensive in developed areas. Part of the reason I love going south on vacations is that I can stop at a wafflehouse, get everything on the left side of the menu, and still end up spending less than $10 including the tip. I've had Ted's steamed burgers before, they are different but nothing special. I can eat about 10-12 standard White Castle cheeseburgers in one shot, but if I do go there I usually get some doublecheese burgers and fries. I have to try CheeseburgerCheeseburger, they recently opened up near my job. I have never heard of Krystal, but according to their website they are not within a days riding distance. |

Froggy: Cheeburger, not Cheeseburger. Name was inspired by that Saturday Night Live sketch. Go for the pounder and get your photo up on their wall of fame. I've done it a couple of times. Speaking of Saturday Night Live... has anyone eaten at the Billy Goat Tavern in Chicago? That is the place that inspired the skit. |

I have never heard of Krystal, but according to their website they are not within a days riding distance." Wow- never researched how far they go north, they're based out of Chattanooga... they don't suck too bad, I usually get 2 cheese with a Krystal Chix w/cheese- as a kid I did the Big K burger... My mom always loved their chili. Without having a White Castle close, they're the best I can do here. WC is either in London KY, or Lebanon TN, if I need 'em fresh... Thankfully, they market them frozen at Dollar General stores here, and elsewhere. My sis in Little Rock AR didn't believe me, is sentimental for Krystals due to our mom, and was flabbergasted to see WC cheeseburgers for sale frozen at DG there. I eat them with ketchup, some horseradish sauce... |

Just polished off a 1/2 lb. Baconator and two orders of fries. Two medium combo meals came up to $15.18, not bad. If my heart clogs up tonight I can die a happy man. Well, full anyway, there's still plenty of things I want to do. |

Give 5 guys a try. Better than In n Out, more toppings included and a SMALL order of fries will feed two or three. They seem to open new locations every week. http://fiveguys.com/ |

ummmm yeah... I never paid $12 for any combo meal at a Wendy's, but then I've never ordered a Baconator before. Personally, I find Wendy's burgers to be completely lifeless. Their fries are OK. I equate 5 guys burgers with a $0.99 burger from Wendy's. I can get a double chili cheese burger with chili cheese fries and a large drink at Tommy's for about $8. After that, I'm done eating and all is right in the world. |

The Frogster and I are going to conduct a recon mission . . . . it's only the right thing to do before we risk having friends travel and run the risk of having a bad cheeseburger. By the way . . . . . I, and it's a bit of a long story involving college sports officials, maintain a database of Westchester County Cheeseburgers. |

Sad day in central PA....Clem's BBQ in Tyrone has closed. Blairsville Clem's is still open though-an hour away...but it just isn't the same. But there is hope! Five Guys is coming to Altoona!!!! Should be open any day now. Last time I was past they had the menu board up and were sweeping the floor! In N Out...ehhh. I don't miss them. Krystal's and White Castle's are both sad examples of what a "burger" should be. |

Toona I forgot you are near Altoona. Would have loved to check out your shop when I was there a few weeks ago. That is bad news about Clems. The food was real good. The site manager of the job I was on recommended it to me. We have a place here that just opened called Perfect Burger. They are pricey, $10, but fantastic! Made with a secret blend of three cuts of steak. They are very very good. 5 Guys is good too. The board full of toppings makes it fun to get what you want for the same price. I am surprised Froggy's Kimbo burger hasn't shown up on here yet. Comet Cafe in Milwaukee. Haven't had the Kimbo myself but their other burgers are great. |
