I had a great time as well! It was great to see everyone. That route is fantastic. Mike, those pics are stunning as usual! One of the best HH's yet! |

Hey, you're right, that was a fantastic route. Was that route posted up anywhere? Most of the time I didn't have a clue where we were but I'd like to revisit the area sometime. Checked this post but don't see it. Different heading maybe? |

How would you guys feel about a spring overnight run somewhere in the upper Hudson Valley region? Maybe a campout of sorts. Gomo and Hammer were cooking up this idea. |

How far North is the "upper" Hudson Valley? There are some great roads in the Taconic and Berkshire mountains east of Troy, NY and getting into Western Mass. |

Do not forget the last weekend in April is the Pa burger run that we do. |

Lake George region is even better - tons of great riding - I took off of work yesterday and last Friday and spent the whole day in the Adirondacks and made sure that Rt 8 heading into Hague and Rt 9N north of Bolton Landing were both included. If serious about this let me know - I live about 45 minutes give or take from Lake George and can test/scope out routes. There are a handful of roads in that area I've been meaning to check out, anyways. |

Ok, I'm so excited about this I just threw together 2 routes (for two days), one is 140 miles and the other is 200 miles. Let me know if we go forward with this. |

I'm sure we can make this happen. This'll be great to carry us though the forthcoming winter doldrums. Mark, I'll let you know. Route scoping is much appreciated. You'll get top-billing at the banquet. |

Just make sure we ride west in the morning and back east in the afternoon. Same for the second day. The photos are much better that way. (Message edited by RKC00 on October 26, 2011) |

Brum, think we got a line on some cabins, so both (or all) nights would be in the same joint. However, the rides could certainly go into the Catskills. You know your way around the Catskills a bit, right? Here's how I envision it. I'm taking a cue from the many COG rallies I've attended. We'll have the locals put pen to paper and come up with several routes. The routes would be available ahead of time, either as text or even .gdb files for those who use GPS. Up in the morning. Choose your route. Fly solo, or with someone, or a group. Roll back into camp around mid-afternoon. Begin bench racing, storytelling, ale-quaffing, tomfoolery and haberdashery (vis-à-vis the tiara for Mark). Repeat next day if necessary. The arrive friday, ride Saturday, head home Sunday formula may work. Dunno. I'm open to suggestions. It's a formula for success. |

I think that sounds good, depending on the number of people that show up. If it's a small group, a group ride each day may work better. I could easily come up with a few more routes, some with some substantial mileage if folks wanted. I know Doon knows the area well up there, too, and could probably help. I think I can also get it into a GPS file format. Where are the cabins you "have a line on"? If we're starting in the Lake George area, having a day ride down into the Catskills would be tough (there's a lot of flat land before you get there) and with all of the ADKs and Vermont ripe for the taking, I'm not sure it wouldn't be time wasted. No rule that says you can't work the Catskills in coming up or heading home, though. Keep me in the loop - being somewhat local I'd be happy to help with arrangements. |

This sounds so freakin cool. Now I have to convince El Paso and Tennessee Gas to postpone their stupid little pipeline project thing. |
