quote:

Court;

I'm standing here where all the folks were the other day.

* ok where is 'here'...

The news is about the in-fighting . .

* please link?

the struggle of various factions "drummers vs. the hippies"

* various factions? no, it's only a group of people...

to get their hands on the money that was raised and the fights breaking out at their daily meetings.

* fights during a general assembly? please link

These folks are a joke."

* is losing your retirement a joke? is losing your job a joke? is trying to improve this country a joke?

no sir, this is no joke... this situation is not a joke, these people are not a joke...

Please learn how to effectively communicate with your audience. Your structure is ambiguous and asks your reader to do unnecessary work. You seem uneducated.

First line: "Court,"
Are you speaking to Court or are you cutting-and-pasting something Court said and attributing it to Court? It is ambiguous and detracts from what you are attempting to communicate.

Use of *
Most readers tend to use special characters or quotes to mark what has already been said, not what you are replying to. Your voice is starred (but not consistently), and it makes you seem self important.

Inconsistency of voice
Sometimes your voice is starred with an "*", sometimes not. Be consistent.

Proper attribution
Unambiguously use colors or quotes to identify what and who you are cut-and-pasting.

Your poor written communication skills reflect your inability to produce a logical argument. At least you are consistent in that fashion.

Dave:

I am . . . in fact at this very moment . . in Zucotti Park in New York City.

I live in New York City so I have a fairly good handle on what a real "crowd" is. There are fewer folks present here than were waiting in line to buy the new iPhone.

How are things looking in the Dakotas?

You may need to send a YouTube link . . . . we're not getting much coverage on the news here in NYC.

Where are you ? ? ? . . . no wait . . the Dakotas ? . . .let me guess . . are you "outstanding in your field"?

Also, evidently you're still holding a grudge over another discussion. Get over it...

Huh?

I'm not wasting my time watching any more of your clips. You won't find me pointing to what Fox or any other media outlet is reporting about the losers squatting in the park...

...except for the fact that the TV is on in the background here in my dispatch office, and it sounds like the Atlanta Police are getting ready to evict the monkeys from the zoo.

Stay tuned.

Char, you spelled Uranus wrong.

Pwnzor, The word from Albany NY is the Governor asked the mayor of Albany to tell the Albany police to enforce the existing "park closed at 11:00" law. Then the DA in Albany declared he would not prosecute any of the occupiers, and that any one making arrests would be prosecuted for false arrest.

http://mayorgraham.blogspot.com/2011/10/dicker-alb any-wont-displace-occupiers.html

http://online.wsj.com/article/APc1d4eb5a0e5443f2b5 8d43ca029952da.html

Near as I can tell, the Gov doesn't want the "occupy" group to make a lot of noise when the Assembly meets about his letting a really stupid "millionaire's tax" expire...... which you may notice, like Obama's class warfare plan, hits all the small business owners that file individual, and are lucky to have become big enough to make over $200k.

I'm told the DA is a hard left guy, who probably should be prosecuted for malpractice. Then again, I could be wrong, and he's a libertarian......

DAVE look up the jacobin site and the organizers Meeting on OWS If you think that bunch of high school government dweebs are going to spend one night in the in Zucotti Park your nuts. The Benetton sweaters they are wear cost more than you will make in SD in 2 years. The OWS bunch will end like every other communist socialist system Dead and buried by the productive people. Lefties love Darwin they are going to experience natural selection in action. They are also running afoul of another reality of life try to take food from some ones family to SHARE it and you will Die. People will give generously of thier own will Try and force them and you will learn a few of the realities of life the hard way. The fail of the OWS crowd is failure to adapt and they are becoming extinct they went to college and didnt learn to adapt to a changing world. They spend 100K or more on degree in something useless in the market place. Read the little book Who moved the Cheese The day of the likes of the OWS and Democrats taking most of my income to Share are about over!

Hmmmmm, which view is a more accurate representation of the truth??

1. Someone who shops his information off from Youtube.com?

Or

2. Someone who actually lives where the action is and has personally been at the location?

That's a tough one for sure......

These OWS folk are a joke as a "movement", the powers behind the scene nudging things are not.

I burst a gasket when Bill Whittle called the spoiled OWS'ers "snowflakes."

I think "teabagger" is pretty funny too. Except when you consider older people actually teabagging. Gack!

I took a ride to Manhattan this morning. I couldn't resist going by Zucotti park to see what all the hubbub is about.

First of all, the park is, I would estimate, about 1/4 to 1/2 an acre. Small. Even if you packed it with people, there wouldn't be very many.

Second, there wasn't any more than 60-70 people in there, and that's probably a generous estimate. So much for taking over the global banks.

I parked the Uly with some very nice police officers who looked after my bike while I went in to see what's doin in there. Turns out, not much. Nobody I talked to seemed to know why they were even there. One girl, about 25-30 years old, says she would like to see...get this...a money-free society. I asked how that would work and she lost me in about 2.2 seconds. "Well, you know, like, people would, like, go to work, and, like, just get what they need, you know?" No.

Another guy, maybe 40 years old went on an anti-government/anti-capitalist rant that made no sense to me at all. Then again, maybe he was making sense and I'm just too dumb to figure it out. And there's plenty more like those two, I'm sure.

This "movement" seems like a big excuse to camp out in Manhattan, play drums, and get stoned. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

So after my entertainment expedition to lower manhattan, I did what's really worthwhile and important...Tres Hombres at the Dinosaur BBQ. Now I'm ready for my own "movement".

It's all a ruse. The ruse of occupying for the cameras, the exaggerated numbers, the importance of what "they" demand. This all in opposition the the ruse that I care about them and what they're up to.

>>>Tres Hombres at the Dinosaur BBQ.

You should have let me know you were coming . . we could have protested foreign motorcycles or overpriced BBQ.

It might be fun to have everybody park at my place and go there Saturday night to camp . . we could make some signs and stuff, bring a couple guitars and hang out in the park and protest . .hell, Suzuki or AMA rules or prices at Daytona.

I'm convinced it's just a chance to ham it up for the cameras.

"I get up early and go to work for "The Man" every day.

is a paycheck and health insurance. I
have to save my own money to buy cool
stuff like motorcycles and weaponry. I
am Ulynut. Don't lump me in with these "99%".

This first one is pretty much right on point.

This guy has, what... $2000 worth of tattoos showing... who knows how many we can't see. His armband says he is the 99%, and the sign says 99% are poor... last time I checked, the people in tattoo parlors getting inked up had disposable income.

I'm thinking my sign might look a little bit like this one:

Here we see Superdavepffft with his many followers:

This guy is more likely to lose his job for NOT BEING AT WORK... probably called in sick.

Blah blah blah BLAH BLAH BLAH

And here, I believe, is the essence:

Ever the capitalist, I'll continue occupying my desk here at work. Then I'll go home to my big, warm house.

They should try the "Bored? Civil Disobedience is Fun!!!" sign in Syria or Iran.

These snowflakes are going to look back in ten years and see how silly they looked. Just like mullets and beehive hairdos. And Court.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men, women and transgendered—and any other human who is able to elude the tyranny of work for a couple of weeks—are created equal. We gather to be free not of tyranny, but of responsibility and college tuitions. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that a government long established and a nation long prosperous be changed for light and transient causes. So let our demands* be submitted to a candid world.

First, we are imbued with as many inalienable rights as a few thousand college kids and a gaggle of borderline celebrities can concoct, among them a guaranteed living wage income regardless of employment and immediate across-the-board debt forgiveness—even if that debt was acquired taking on a mortgage with a 4.1 percent interest rate and no money down, which, we admit, is a pretty sweet deal in historical context…

...but down with the modern gilded age!

We demand that a Master of Fine Arts in musical theater writing, with a minor in German, become an immutable human right, because education is crucial and rich people can afford to fund unemployment checks until we find jobs or in perpetuity, whichever comes first.

We demand a minimum wage of $10, no ... make it $20. We earned it. And we demand the end of “profiteering,” because there is no better way to end joblessness than stopping the growth of capital. We also demand a maximum wage law, because selfish American dreams need a firm ceiling.

We demand the institution of direct democracy, because if a bunch of people say it’s OK, it’s OK. And everyone deserves to have his or her voice heard. Except Mr. Moneybags, who we demand stop contributing his own money to candidates we disagree with, to issue groups we loathe and to lobbyists who do not work for organizations featuring “Service,” “Employees,” “International” and/or “Union” in their title.

We demand the end to bailouts and corporate subsidies, unless we’re talking about companies that feature sunflowers or sun rays in their logos, because that’s the kind of morally gratifying institution we approve of, and thus, they should totally be fast-tracked and bailed out with your money to bring the fossil fuel economy ("the economy") to an end.

We demand the end to a corrupt Wall Street ("Apple" “your 401(k)") because banks hold too much power. We demand that government consolidate authority so that elected officials can make prudent choices for us. All that cash in banks was printed by the war god Mars and has nothing to do with the voluntary deposits by ordinary Americans, so we do not consider this theft.

We demand the end to corporate censorship, because if we can’t force private news organizations to run the types of stories with which we agree, there can’t be a healthy democracy. So actually, we demand the end of all corporate news organizations in the name of free speech.

We demand the end to health profiteering, because everyone knows that all the wondrous and lifesaving advances in modern medicine were invented in the People’s Democratic Republic of Laos. Smart people work for the good of humanity, not because they’re greedy.

We demand these rights because of the mass injustice of being able to freely protest against racism and corporatism without any real fear of imprisonment in the most diverse city on earth. And to the wiseguy who walked by the other day and claimed that I’d be writing this manifesto with a quill pen on parchment paper if it weren’t for capitalism, we have two words for you: Koch brothers. Think about it.

This is the fifth communique from the 99.9 percent. We are occupying Wall Street, and we’re not going home until it gets really cold.
