court; COPS BEAT WHO you ask? I'm not surprised that you, and many on this site, appear to be misinformed. If you're watching fox news you're completely off base, other outlets vary but the majority are twisting it a great deal.
well anyway there's a ton to choose from, more new ones each day as cops get more violent, here's a sample...
The point being is that the media isn't broadcasting this side. The cops are violent, the protesters are not.
think folks, these people got rich off of your mortgages, your 401k, your taxes from the bailouts and yet no punishment is dolled out and they still got massive bonuses?!? WTF
Read, Watch, Think...
Please don't trust some idiot on TV paid by these very corporations...
Dave, you're only showing us video from the point the police decide to take action. Show video of the 5 minutes BEFORE the police decided to make an arrest. My guess is you'll see abusive and arrogant actions on the part of the protesters. If a protester touches a cop, they're going to get arrested. If they resist arrest, they're going to get taken down. They know what happens. These folks are professional protesters (most of them) and the ones getting arrested want to get arrested. That's why they're there. Their buddy records it and puts it on youtube and folks just eat it up. You're being used. Your sympathy is misplaced.
I agree that the media is doing heavy malpractice.
Here's the bottom line.
No matter how righteous the cause of the first 3 guys who showed up to protest, it's NOW about a leftist revolution, and the evil guys that profit from that. Nazi's, Communists, the very evil rich. ( Soros ) Throw in the attempt to co-opt the protests by the Dems?
If you preach hate and envy.. you are bad.
Period fracking dot.
There may be good people there with good reasons to want change. ( That THEY can believe in? ) Too bad. They are now in with people who want trouble, and I bet you a dollar it's going to be violent.
Remember the Chicago lesson of 1968?
a.Never throw shit at an armed man. b.Never stand next to someone who is throwing shit at an armed man.
Hootowl are you kidding me? 'professional protesters'???
Are those gals that were sprayed point blank with mace by a cowardly cop professionals?
Where do you get this from? did you even WATCH the videos??
"My guess... " aha there you admit you don't know so watch and figure it out. Don't just regurgitate some conservative talking point that doesn't even apply.
People who ignore issues and just assume the 'news' is right, like you, are a huge part of this country's problems. Start thinking for yourself and stop GUESSING....
Dave, even in some of the videos you've shown to support your side you can see the crowd is unruly and uncooperative with the cops. In one you can see them tearing down the fencing the police have put up. Try that sort of crap with a cop on any given day; You will wind up with the cop kneeling on your neck as they put the cuffs on you. The SHOULD put away the pepper spray and beat them like baby seals.
>>>Please don't trust some idiot on TV paid by these very corporations...
I never would.
If you have nothing better than those videos to make your point . . .you, my friend, are screwed.
I do confess to being suitably entertained watching these low life bastards protest "big business" while holding a protest sign in one hand and an iPhone (Apple announced profits today) and using Starbucks WiFi.
Some people seem to think that life is fair. It isn't. Most ordinary humans strive to make life fair, but conflicts inevitably arise. Sometimes the only right thing to do will be terribly unfair to some, yet is best for the whole. There will always be situations that to an individual will seem unfair. Philosophers have struggled with this issue for many thousands of years. The ultimate conclusion? Life is unfair, get over it.
Not all corporations and/or banks have made a profit that was unfair or usurious. Nor the people that work for them. There have been some executives and some ordinary con men who have, for the time being "gotten away" with other people's money. But that state of affairs is nothing new or unusual. Many will find karma of a sort, much like Madoff has. The position that somehow Walstreet has conspired against the 99% is a simpleton's thinking, based on a dubious understanding of an often misused statistic about wealth distribution in America.
How much wealth has ever been more evenly distributed in any country at any time? What do you think the 99% in any other country have? Today or a thousand years ago? Sift through all the protesters and find the ones you think have a legitimate grievance and ask the above questions about their complaints. What is their real complaint? What have they ever really been deprived of? Loans they never have to repay? In any amount the "need" to do what ever calls to them in life? That is all wishful fantasy and it is sad to see so many adults in such a deluded state. But not all of us are deluded about the nature of their discontent. We don't buy it, we grew up and moved on with our lives with an understanding that life is rarely fair and if we work hard we may find some prosperity and happiness. But we never once expected life had to work that way or that we had a right to demand it.
My opinion of the protesters comes from the very same place your videos come from. Not Fox news or Cnn and especially not Msnbc. But the ones I saw on YT capture the unruly crowd "before" the arrests were made. AND before the people got their well deserved spicy spray in the face. I don't know about professional protesters, it's common knowledge to most people what most Peace Officer procedures would do for unruly protesters. Paid protesters I hear are out there though.
the majority of those video's are after the fact and not showing the PEACE OFFICER asking the people to move or cooperate in some way... and they eagerly ignore the PEACE OFFICER's demands and then also have to RESIST, which they do. Then the PEACE OFFICER doe's his job.
CLEVELAND, Ohio (CBS Cleveland) – An “Occupy Cleveland” protester tells police she was raped in her tent over the weekend.
Cleveland police are investigating an alleged sexual assault incident Saturday at the “Occupy Cleveland” rally involving a 19-year-old female student from Parma.
According to police reports, the 19-year-old student was instructed by “Occupy Cleveland” personnel to “share a tent with the suspect due to a shortage of tents.” The suspect identified himself as “Leland” to the woman. The woman told police that after she had thought the suspect went to sleep in his own bed, she slept in a sleeping bag provided to her by the rally.
The student went to school Monday and told a teacher about her sexual assault incident in Public Square — which is being classified as “kidnapping/rape” — prompting the teacher to immediately contact the authorities.
“Occupy Cleveland” is one of many movements taking place nationwide in the wake of “Occupy Wall Street,” which is protesting against corporate greed.
Emails from CBS Cleveland to the “Occupy Cleveland” movement were not immediately returned.
Schoen has already been attacked. I will leave you OWS lovers to find it yourself. Mr Schoen served as a pollster for President Clinton so I highly doubt he has a partisan axe to grind.
Sadly, for some the ability to discern truth is inversely proportional to their desire to believe one particular side of an issue. It's indicative of either poor integrity or an inability to think critically.
Anyone who would willingly walk into the "belly of the beast" of that thing... and NOT expect any reaction from any LEO who is just doing their job, is either extremely naive, downright stupid or a masochist (or quite possibly all three).
I do understand the frustration, I just have a different outlet for it I guess. Looking for work, studying for career advancement while I have the time and volunteering in something I beleive in.
I do feel sorry for people who work down there who have to put up with it every day...
