Woohoo! I made my flight connection by seconds, and made it home "on time" if you can call 12 hours late "on time". I'm loading up and heading out ASAP. Should be in the area around 8 PM. I may ride straight to Copperhead and try to catch the dinner crew before the leave. See y'all there. |

You folks heading back North are welcome to pitch a tent at my place on your way home if needed. I did manage to get a ride in today. My Father-in-law and I rode the Cherohala and the Dragon today. Only saw one other Buell all day. I rode Blastulys today, my Uly still needs a rear skin. I could not get to Suches today. Grandma said Grandpa had to be back before dark. It was a beautiful day for lunch in Robbinsville. The leaves are in their splendor this week from still green in the valleys to full color to gone at the mountain tops. Here are our rides for today.

Did anyone steal his little smelly flesh colored 'friend'? I have evidence he defiled Piglet with it. Someone please tell me he finally tossed the moldy obscene item out ! Please. |

You guys are nicer than we were in college. Woulda woke up with ONE eyebrow shaved, back in the day....to either live with it, or suffer through shaving the other one himself so they matched. Not that we were evil in school or anything. |

We are now in Kentucky headed back ti Illinois. Jerry is driving and I am typing! Met new people and had an absolute grand time. We are ready to do it all over again. The group we rode with was accident free so I thought I would help them out by falling off the bike. Prolly a good thing I am grounded for now. Will post pictures later. Carol |

The Jacksonville contingent are home safe & sound. For me it was 1100 miles in 3 days. I crash. Made many new & valued friends & had a great time. Thanks to all who helped me out & persevered with my slowness. Chris C |

This part of the maryland crew is home safe n wound. It was great seeing old friends and making new ones. Sometimes the smaller the crew the better the times. Such was the case with the crew that stayed at skeenah campground. Leslie n ken bent over backwards to make us travelers feel at home. I have found another home away from home n this one is the skeenah campground for my travels to georgia. |

Well, how 'bout that! That pic represents how WIPED OUT TIRED one gets whilst riding all day, trying to keep Matt/Tim/Tom/Chris et al in sight, even adding 45 minutes on washboard surfaces offroad... and of course, some later evening libations. BTW, I figured out quick when I got there that the den/couch would be the most merciful place for me to snore, youn's can thank me now... Knowing the group, I am grateful for no serious shenanigans. Had a great time at C3 Central, although some of our group suggested re-naming it after the TN majority- how bout "Nashville Nutjob Roost", in honor of Saturday's first leg of the ride... Thanks to all my cabin "buddies", it was great to hang with you, and try to hang with you on all the rides. Tom, thanks for the 20 spot, used change from it to get an energy drink in Tellico Plains that kept me awake for the last leg home, I owe ya... Glad everyone made it to/fro BTF safe, barring Jeremy's minor getoff... buddy, hope your ankle is getting better! +100 for Leslie and the peeps running Skeenah! We had kinda poo-poohed the idea of a $3 buck buffet, but dang if she didn't have a serious spread for everyone! She was especially proud of her "brisket biscuits", I managed to get the last one, long since cold, but dang tasty! Plus blackened fish, chicken AND tuna salad, hot sausages, potato salad, on and on... I took the time to chat with her- she and her man had been longtime campers there, got to know the owners as friends, learned that they really no longer could put in the time and effort to look after Skeenah, so they became the campmasters. Leslie was once a bartender/old restaurant hand, and I could tell right off- she is a natural peeps person! They had done quite a bit to spruce up the place, and had just "taken over" this past season. I expect greater things to happen under their watch. With TWO gone, Skeenah and Leslie have the best choice for camping IMHO. Bonus: Char, this one's for you- Skeenah has either the oldest, or one of the oldest mills in GA. According to Leslie, prior to this even, it was a Cherokee homestead also! She told me that the entire site was about 7 acres... I mentioned to her that she should enlist some historians/archaelogists to investigate the site, and invest in some metal detectors. Might be interesting to see what can be found... Fun stuff! OK, who's got the pics? POST UP PHLEEZE!!

what!? it was hot for me both times! me thinks this might be a case of operator error.... maybe next time we'll both go together glad everyone made it back. it was great. typing while pillion is nothing for carol! you should see her arms waving about while rolling through the twisties! i think she might possibly be able to fly... but her landings are still a work in progress. ape and I are sending the folks at skeenah a thank you card. if you have time, please do the same. Steve, lemme dig up my old lever. i don't intend on using it anymore. its yours once i find it.... |

A pic of the C3 group from Saturday's ride: We had a great time and everyone survived. I did miss having TWO as a central gathering point/rest area though. It was nice having plenty of gas available at the Wolfpen Gap Country Store (formerly Dale's/Not Dale's); that hasn't been true in some years past. OK, start the countdown to March Badness... |
