Having worked at several coffee houses (one in Arizona and four in Wisconsin) I thought this was pretty funny... I am sure the guy thought he would get canned, if not he is too stupid to work at Starbucks.

Oh... and yeah, the Starbucks store I worked at was in downtown Madison, right next to the university. I had one woman who tried to grab her 120 degree drink and shoved it off the stand almost on to me... I jumped back about three feet immediately. If I were not AWAKE (full of at least four shots espresso with mint syrup w a little cream) I would have had second degree burns. Never even said she was sorry and was annoyed I had to make her another drink...

Char, had that 120 degree drink hit you AND caused burns, that customer would have went to jail. You are the bigger person for remaining calm and still making her another drink. I would have proceeded to call the police and press charges for her stupidity.

Anybody who is in a service industry can relate... sometimes you just gotta let it loose.
I used to manage a retail ski shop and come Christmas it was brutal! The clients are under extreme stress and always in a hurry. Not fun times.
Before the season started I would get my staff together and give them one free "F@#k Off!!" per year... they could use it anytime but they ran the risk of being let go if they used it more than once.
It rarely got used, but the kids knew they had it in their back pocket if needed and they treasured it.
I think it got them through some tough times on the sales floor just knowing that I'd back them up if needed.
