His mom is drowning in debt so that he can get a degree that offers no financial security! Perhaps if he had to pay for his own education he would have selected a better field of study. These people really are the ones with advantage but no brains. Funny read though. |

What? I hope I am misinterpreting (it is Friday hehe), anyway... are you reveling in these people's misfortune? Were you not affected by the massive bailouts somehow? Are your tax dollars not funding GM right now? (don't expect a dividend check btw) Did you do some homework and find out that the cops are using excessive force on a regular basis? Did you know the cops have illegally blocked streets so they could not peacefully demonstrate? Did you know cops rounded up a few women and maced them directly in the fact FOR NO REASON at all? Did you know that they are even beating journalists? Did you know that similar movements have sprung up in many other major cities? Did you know that these protesters are out there speaking for those who did lose the retirement, their pensions, and so on? This country was raped by a collusion of the gov't and the banks which has led us to this point now. Did you know that they are trying to help this country? What have you done to try to help your country? *Sources - youtube videos, search on occupy |

Right, because the job markets haven't changed at all in the last few years, when many were just starting college. Yesterdays high paying in demand jobs are gone. |

Sifo; That's a pretty heartless comment... Did you have $100,000 on high school graduation day to go to med school? I didn't... Did ANYBODY have all the money they needed for college? I don't know of ANYONE who's folks didn't have to kick in on a college bill. Regarding no financial security, he's stating that EVEN though he's invested a HUGE sum he has no guarantee that he'll receive ANYTHING in return. He's stating that I just got out of school, now I have a mortgage sized debt and I'm not sure if I'll even be able to find a job in my field. |

You are awfully emotional, what do you think you are entitled to? As for what I have done for the country... -Served four years in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician spending 8 of those years deployed. -After I was honorably discharged from the Navy I spend a couple years going to community college (although never getting a degree) using the GI bill. I got an internship which turned into a full time job working at one of the largest aircraft manufacturers in the world which enables me to pay taxes so that "artists" can, instead of getting real jobs, lay around getting high throwing paint against a canvas. -The money I saved while in the military enabled me to purchase my first house in 2003. I sold that house and purchased the house I will have a family in about 2.5 years ago. Both of these loans were fixed rates and I never had the interest rate raised on either because *gasp* the interest rates were fixed. I paid a nice chunk of cash in taxes when I sold my first house and continue to pay property taxes on my current residence. Do I think the heads of the big corporations care more about themselves than their consumers and employees? Most definitely. However, these crazies that think they should be entitled to a giant paycheck and loads of other freebies (if they even think they should be working) b/c they got their communications, psychology, or underwater basket weaving degrees are just as dumb as the far right tea partiers. The big banks that handed out all of the garbage loans are only PARTIALLY responsible for handing out those loans…..all the greedy morons that thought they were entitled to that house they couldn't afford are just as responsible as the banks. P.S. What have YOU done to try to help your country? |

Gee Dave, I paid my way through college and didn't have any guarantees either. I happened to graduate into some pretty crappy times in the early 80's too. It was about 5 years before I was doing the kind of work I wanted (closer to 10 to get into what I really wanted). Of course I also worked and saved during HS and worked a few more years between HS and college. Yesterdays high paying in demand jobs are gone. Do you really think that fields that were promising 4 years ago are really the wastelands of tomorrow? Few field have changed that fast. Hell, I was in IT. Don't cry to me about how fast things change. I was constantly taking classes to learn new things. |

For F%$ks sakes people as always the reality lies in the middle. Life Sucks. Greed is the culprit and fault lies with all of us. Is it fair for the greed of some to affect all of us? Why could a bank teller in the 50s and 60s afford to own a home and put kids through college and one know can barely afford rent? This type of behavior has happened time and time again throughout history. The rich get richer the poor get poorer. and eventually the poor rise up and burn the country to the ground and start over. I hope that history does not repeat itself |

I'm not saying they are completely right Sifo. Although they have a point. I will never understand why people on both sides refuse to ever see that there is a middle ground. Your cartoon clearly illustrates my point. |

Oh and education is too expensive Where did you go to school BTW perhaps i can prove that point. As for mortgages thats a different story. I would be more concerned with the average salaries that pay for one than the mortgage one signed but thats just me. |

You have to realize that it's taken weeks to hone their message to this current state of ridiculousness. In the first week they couldn't begin to verbalize why they were there. They need a big boot of reality upside their heads. |

Why could a bank teller in the 50s and 60s afford to own a home and put kids through college and one know can barely afford rent? tuition is high cuz it's paying for the new school buildings, gym floor and library books, tech stuff every few years plus all the high salaried teachers and pensions. (just a guess) But, I guess that is a good reason to protest(?) there are other options ... tech schools, how about learning a trade. Maybe.. they can get "another" loan to pay for tech schooling in a trade that is hiring so they can get a job and pay back the original school loans?? (just a thought) Gotta be better than sitting on their ass protesting. We all know they aren't gonna get anything from it. (except maybe dirty underwear, arrest record or herpies) |

Drkside, Your "burn this mutha down" theory does not apply to America precisely because we are a dynamic society. In America, you can be born poor and become rich. In America, you can be born rich and become poor. This tends to be not true in other countries which are static systems. Dennis Miller on how to empty Zucatti Park of the Occupy Other Peoples Stuff crowd: "But if you opened up a job hunt there you'd see contrails heading away from that park". |

In America, you can be born poor and become rich. In America, you can be born rich and become poor. Exactly! And many of these people are people with great opportunities ahead of them if they embrace that opportunity. These aren't the poor and minorities who may have some legitimate beefs about discrimination. The rich in this country are simply examples of what can be done if you seize the opportunity. Once we tear that down what are we left with? It's not like we are overthrowing an aristocracy where you are being limited because you are born into the wrong class. These idiot are demonizing the very opportunities that await them. |

Here is more of the transcript of Dennis on "The Factor" Wednesday night. Miller is brilliant. BILL O'REILLY, HOST: In the "Miller Time" segment tonight: There's a battle in the media over the "Occupy Wall Street" crowd. Many liberal press people sympathize with the protesters, but most conservative media types are appalled at the display. So where does the sage of Southern California stand? Dennis Miller joins us now from Los Angeles. All right, so, where do you stand on these people? DENNIS MILLER: Well, I realize I'm no longer the biggest loser on Wall Street this year which, up to this point, my broker assures me I was. I were. No, I was. Listen, it's like most kids, Billy. I think, you know, the kids in this group don't anger me. Some of the older losers I look at and go, oh, get on with it for God's sakes. But kids have always through the ages dedicated their lives to core beliefs that they are not wise enough to elaborate on. They're at the parapets, but they sort of (INAUDIBLE) the point. And, when you mix into the fact that we raised a generation that are a little narcissistic, you know what I mean, like no dodge ball, relativism in everything, everybody gets the same grades, nobody wins tug-of-wars, you've got a bunch of kids who were taught to be precious out there. And I don't know that they know how to deal with real hardship if there's not an app to deal with real hardship. So I think that's where it stands. I don't look at the kids there and go -- I would have probably been one of those kids. O'REILLY: I want to ask you, is there any difference between those guys and the Woodstock people during the Vietnam war running around, any difference in the crews(inaudible)? MILLER: Listen, we've lived, you know, the Woodstock generation grated a little more but they had better fashion. I would say that. But… O'REILLY: Better headbands. MILLER: Yes, the -- the hemp hoodies doesn't work for me, but I like that old Hendrix look. That was cool. If you want to break this thing up, Billy, overnight go down there and set up a jobs fair where you're offering jobs that start at an entry-level position that afternoon, not glamorous work, but decent work and not at minimum wage. O'REILLY: But they've already said that -- we've already used clips of them saying they're not going to take the $7 an hour jobs. MILLER: No, no, I don't mean minimum wage. I mean good, solid entry-level jobs. O'REILLY: Look, every cab company in New York City is desperate for people who speak English. Did you ever take a cab in this city? You've got to -- you've got to speak Farsi if you want to go to the Bronx. They don't know. If you speak English, they want you in a cab. That's 50 grand. Yes, you've got to drive around and you've got to work. They don't want to do that. MILLER: Thank God I'm fluent in Farsi. But if you opened up a job hunt there you'd see contrails heading away from that park. |

My point is this. The problem is not the mortgages its everything else thats killing the younger generation and older for that matter. Salaries are no where near keeping pace with everything else. Tuition at a state school is not that bad Its everything else. The gas the food the books ect that has risen 50 to 100% in the last decade. Did salaries rise with them? |

Did salaries rise with them? We are looking at a boom period when the economy finally recovers. We need to get out of the way of the recovery. When BO got elected I said to my wife the he was positioned to be "one of our great Presidents". All he had to do was sit back like Clinton and let the cycle recover. Instead he has done pretty much everything in his power to stifle recovery in the private sector. |

So why is the Media not caterwauling that OWS is composed of mostly white people? They were practically apoplectic about the Tea Party over this perceived issue. The Media died in 2008. The Dems and 0 are digging their graves by supporting OWS. Al Gore just jumped in to support the Defecators. OWS is a good way to pick up chicks though. Miller is correct. |

Sifo, you are exactly correct. The economy and especially the Real Estate market, would have healed itself by now without persistent government intervention. Andy, you are too young to remember the Carter years. Unfortunately, you haven't seen anything yet as 0 is doing his best to out-Carter Carter. We had stagflation then with ~20% inflation and gas lines. A true Conservative like Cain will restore confidence in the markets and our economy will soar within four to six years. I do appreciate that you try to find middle ground and you show a propensity for learning. Keep it up. |

I'd like to point something else out that I've observed over the last two or three decades: The role that High School Guidance Counselors have played in the direction the youths of today have taken. There is this steady drumbeat of "College, College, College.." throughout the system, no matter what the students' capabilities or strengths might be. There is no evaluation like there was thirty years ago: "Is this student college material?" No, then we need to steer him through vocational training and learn a trade. My son did that, went to DeVry, leaned Electronics, and went to work for a local company. He's been there ever since, working hard and constantly learning. My Dad used to ask:"Who's going to do The Work?" You know, plumbers, concrete, wiring, roofers, etc. Many make more than I do! And the last I checked, we weren't outsourcing clogged plumbing to India... |
