They Big Four didn't like the Super Twin race the last time around. They birthed baby Ducatis, TL1000R, Super Chicken, RC51. Wouldn't it be great to have a new arms race in non-IL4 multis?

IIRC: Goals for new Ducati superbike: as compared to 1198: 10% more power. 10% less weight. 10% more MSRP. (Message edited by barker on October 10, 2011)

They say the best power to weight made? I wonder how it would stack up against the Erik Buell Racing 1190RS. This looks amazing, competition prompts better technology, and I like where this is going

Not all that interesting. My 1995 Buell has it there Nice looking though. Wonder if Erik looked into single-side swingarms from an unsprung-weight perspective...?

That test engineer could use a workout or two. From me, that's sayin' somethin'.

That's not a big test engineer, his outline is just obscured like the tape and cardboard over the test mule bodywork. (riiiiiight)

Erik's 1190rs is rated from the rear wheel not the crank - lol EZ

And I bet the Ducati sells better than the 1190RS

And I bet a Harley Softail sells better than both the Duck or the 1190. Ducati already has it's reputation established and has a good share of loyal followers. Give Erik Buell Racing 20 years to get itself established, then start comparing their sales to those of other marques.

"Nice looking though. Wonder if Erik looked into single-side swingarms from an unsprung-weight perspective...?" Humm, well if you are going to have a flat piece of metal for the sprocket, why not also use the inside of it for the rear brake. And attach it mid spoke like the front wheel on a blast. It could be called HTL, Half Torsion Load.

My understanding of SSS was that they could potentially speed up rear tire changes and can(subjectively) look pretty cool. Don't think they ever found any weight savings tho. YMMV, Nels

>>>>And I bet the Ducati sells better than the 1190RS Hahahaha . . I'll bet you are right. Ducati has their reputation, over 3,000 dealers . . in addition to a $45,000,000 marketing budget with a staff of 128 folks and 2 of the world's premiere ad agencies. Ducati will spend more on magazine ads than Buell will spend in total during 2012. Yeah . . I'll bet it does. Basking the the shadow of true genius. (Message edited by Court on October 11, 2011)
