New to the boards and Buells. Just bought a newish 2009 1125cr and I am loving it. My only complaint is that when I start to do above 80, the wind beats me up. Is there anything out there that could help? thanks in advance for your time |

The 1125 section is a good place to ask. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/290431.html?1317755775 Welcome to the board. |

Welcome to Badweb. Laminar Lip makes a add-on wind screen for the 1125CR that may help: http://www.laminarlip.com/1125cr.php Hopefully someone at the 1125 section can tell you how well it works. |

Don't expect miracles, but those laminar lips do help a lot. |

i had one for my lightning. it only helps, it doesn't do wonders for the wind. i bought it for half of retail in the classifieds and didn't keep it long. one day before i sold it; i rode few miles in the rain wearing a cotton, long sleeve shirt at about 45 MPH. there was an outline of wetness about the height of my armpits/nipples. i didn't take a pic or do any 'test' runs at different speeds. sorry. if you really wanna get out of the wind; you gotta go big or go home. |

Stock clubman bars? Or the accessory riser bars? Stock clubmans on mine keep me tucked nicely out of the wind. |

Thanks, I think that is going to be perfect for what I am looking for. I cant seem to find a picture showing the entire 1125cr with the smoke one on but the pics Ive seen gives me a good idea. Thanks again! |

I'm a little late, but thought I'd ad my $.02 to the mix. I like the lip on my xb12stt, as Nilla said, it helps... but for winter riding with heated grips and vest it's pretty good, much better than my M2's wind and cold weather protection. It would be about the same for the City cross. Looks a bit more substantial on the CR picture from their website. With the high-bar kit, maybe some handguards, your bike will be more comfortable in the cold...course the low bars would help tuck in behind the lip a little better. -Mike |

I love my laminar lip. I even did a hard mount of it, though I have many lessons to share with anyone considering doing the same. The difference at speeds above 90mph is really great. I don't collect as many bugs in my mesh jacket, either! |

I did not think of looking in the for sale section. Thanks! I have allot less worry now I've seen it on the entire bike. I am curious on the 'hard mount' but worry about drilling. Also being in South Florida, the cold is really not an issue for me. Although it does get down low as 65 for a week in January so I guess I should be aware of it... |

Damn Andy, that looks dead sexy. Seriously. Makes me think of a VFR for some reason. I think if it had the fairing lowers it would look even more like a viffer, but I could be totally off on that... tail bag doesn't look sexy though. I mean, I get it, it's not there for that... just didn't want anyone thinking I had a thing for big butts...not that it matters, this is a motorcycle forum after all... so... umm, yeah... 'Kay, that's definitely more than two cents, so I'm out... unless Drkside wants me to put up a pic of the lip on an XB-S type bike...or I can just email it, since this is 360rider's thread... |
