The first three Boeing 787 have flown the coop and are on their way to Japan to take their place in ANA's fleet. The delivery is a milestone for Boeing and the 787 is expected to perform well and be a "benchmark aircraft" in the commercial aviation world. Boeing has incurred nearly 3 year delivery delay which is a cloud over the otherwise fine achievement by an American company. Much of the delay is attributed to the difficulty on outsourcing so many subsystems and get it all integrated properly. I figure in just slightly in this by having been under contract with Boeing for software that supports the manufacturing logistics side of this and other Boeing aircrafts. CNBC will be showing a documentary on the planning and making of the 787: One-Hour Documentary Reported by CNBC’s Phil LeBeau Premieres on Tuesday, September 27th at 9PM ET/PT on CNBC Thought this might be of interest to some of you. |

VERY interested - thanks for the heads up. I'll need to get someone to DVR this for me since I don't have cable anymore. |

My tiny part in the ANA 787: working for the company that provides the in-flight connectivity & entertainment system. I can't wait to fly on her someday. |
