Mariner's Rules: #1 - The Captain is always right. #2 - If the Captain is wrong, see rule #1. Best job in the world ... Dad was career Navy ... EOD. I hope to make him as proud of me as I am of him and the service he did for our country. |

Man, that's one seriously sleek, minimalist design. I bet those suckers are hard to spot out on the water. ~SM |

Doug: You've got to be getting excited . . seeing your new command take shape before your eyes! Would they notice if you had a ERIK BUELL RACING key chain for the thing? When do you get the keys? How long will you be in sea trials? Take pictures ! ! |

I'm wondering . . . does the EPA put any restrictions on what ECM you run? . . . I have a friend who might be able to put some fire in your beast. Are you running the stock exhaust? |

I really wish I could post more photos, but there are restrictions on what I can share during construction. Here's a model builder's site and I can tell you that the model is very accurate: http://www.motionmodels.com/ships/amphib/jhsv1.htm l The stock exhaust is underneath the ship (like a Buell!) between the hulls and it's water cooled. |

That model builders site is pretty darn amazing. Not only for the superb models, but it's link to the old Baldwin-Motion Supercar Chevrolets of the late 60's and early 70's. http://www.motionmodels.com/about.html#legal http://www.officialbaldwinmotion.com/contact.htm THE same Joel Rosen! Man, did the Baldwin-Motion Performance Group make some killer street cars back in the day. http://www.officialbaldwinmotion.com/begin.htm Not only did Motion do the relatively 'standard' Chevrolet conversions, they were known to do high performance conversions on a limited number of other brand musclecars, like this Buick GSX: 40/1970-Buick-GSX-Motion-Performance.html, 1970 Buick Motion-GSX
Sorry for the threadjack - just thought the connection was TOO COOL to pass up! As Capt's anticipation increases - CONGRATS on the very COOL ship! 1313 |

That ship is beautiful! You know you're getting old when all three ships you were on have been decommissioned! |

Is it being built by BAE? A very historic company, their heritage is impressive, including Bofors, Spitfire, Harrier & even Concorde. Looks like a neat bit of kit, just make sure there's somewhere you can hook on to go wake-boarding. |

Built by Austal USA in Mobile Alabama. They used the BAE drydock for roll-out from the assembly bay (9/08 pic), and then floated the ship off (launched) ... today.
