Last month, the local sheriff and feds raided a 50 acre pot farm, destroyed thousands of plants and arrested 53 people. Now about a month later the feds release all the people with no charges. They aren't saying why but local radio has it coming straight from Eric Holder. "I Eric Holder, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God." YEAH, MY ASS! http://www.fresnobee.com/2011/08/23/2509054/no-fed eral-charges-in-sanger-pot.html} |

The US AG is actually sworn in. I don't know what the oath is. May not be that. |

If there are no charges filed, does that mean no crimes were committed? Will the farmers be compensated for the damage the agents did during the raid? |

According to Cornell University Law School § 3331. Oath of office An individual, except the President, elected or appointed to an office of honor or profit in the civil service or uniformed services, shall take the following oath: “I,. . . . (cited above) The story says the others charges may be filed which I read to mean "shut-up and go away or we'll figure out something else to hit you with". |

Charges are often dropped if they don't think they can get a conviction for whatever reason. Doesn't mean a crime was not committed. Why would anyone be compensated for growing an illegal crop? |

If it was illegal, charge them. Don't raid a pot farm and then let all the criminals go. Or better yet, don't raid the pot farm. Go catch murderers and rapists instead. Plenty of them out there. |

Yeah but pot is a gateway drug to further criminality....like rape, murder and illegal immigration. |

The agents probably messed up in a way that make all evidence non-admissible. It's probably some technicality, not some tinfoil hat fantasy from idiots on broadcast radio. |

I don't smoke. I did, twice, in highschool. I take a Right Wing stance on most things, but pot is not one of them. Legalize it, tax it, regulate it. Simple. |

take the Johnson Atoll, make it club drug. Turn it into a free for all, all the drugs you can handle. 10K air fare there per seat. You can come back off the island only after 90 days clean and sober. hello new revenue curve, good by local druggies . Hell make a reality show to give away a couple of seats so the 'poor' dopers can enjoy it too. |

Yeah but pot is a gateway drug to further criminality....like rape, murder and illegal immigration. sorry, but that gateway drug is tobacco. Nearly 100% of coke addicts are smokers. Also very high percentage of rapists, murderers and illegals. Also be real, while pot smuggling does fuel the illegal alien problem, the vast majority of pot heads are too mellow to rape or murder. Or remember to vote for legalization. ( though I admit the illegals are preyed upon by coyotes ) You want a balanced budget? legalize, tax and regulate. A buddy back during Regan calculated and end to US debt ( total debt, not yearly deficit ) in 5 years if Maryjane was taxed. Take much longer today, of course. That also ends the illegal immigrant connection since commercial domestic suppliers would have a cheaper, better product. I do realize that booze and tobacco are the gateway drugs for taxation as well, and the cause of much smuggling, border running, murder and oppression throughout our nations history. ( where do you think NASCAR originated? ) |

From the Kennedy's illegal booze operation. This is actually not true. Joe K had a license to import for the few legal uses during prohibition. He made his fortune partly because he was able to use this license to legally import warehouses full of booze right as repeal was moving along that could not be sold until repeal was completed. On the day the law changed he had a very effective monopoly on Gin, Scotch, Irish and anything else that came form Great Britain. He was in no way a bootlegger |

A bit more accurately... Joseph Kennedy had the political connections to know to purchase the rights to import liquor from Scotland and Canada. As soon as prohibition ended he was in a position to corner the market. This sort of action on insider information should have landed him in jail. |

I thought tomatoes where the gateway. I bet nearly 100% of rapist, murderers and illegal immigrants have eaten a tomato at some point in their life. Then again, I may be thinking of coca-cola. Or chewing gum... The gateway drug silliness is one more example of people trying to define cause and effect. Gateway statistical bullshit is made up to support whatever side of the argument you wish to support. We should just legalize agricultural hemp. Beyond it's financial benefits it has the effect of ruining recreational 'pot' thru cross-polination. Unfortunately the fact that (hemp) requires almost no pesticides or fertilizers ensures the big agri-chem businesses would join the lobby against it along with LE. |

I am surprised under this administration that the land and the equipment was not accessed into the national, and auctioned back off, or repositioned to a HOPE farm |

Dave A little local history Here in Palm Beach the Kennedys did smuggle booze etc for Col Bradleys Casino and Bar. He supplied Maralago Marjorie Posts Estate The Bath and Tennis Club And Everglades Clubs Very restricted. The Blabons supplied the beer Busch ring a bell? Prohibition never hit Palm Beach local families are famous rumrunners that worked for the Kennedys and others. They have been smugglers since the spanish days here in florida. John Kennedy was shipped out to PT boat duty to keep him away from another mans wife Kennedys have a big problem with women they think they get to screw every woman they want. After the rape one easter that and going after the bell hop as a drug dealer when one ODed they were told never to come back to Palm Beach. Grandma was shipped out when she died and the house sold. We know them well here good riddence Oh and good ole mary jane caused the death of a Small town California councilman he was timber cruising when found a pot farm and was shot his partner escaped. So much for harmless pot. Its a wonder why the environmentalists who are major rope smokers buy pot when the pot farmers are real ecoterrorists dumping many gallons of diesel and lube oil coolants etc from thier generators in the woods! |

Well, damnit, they should be prosecuted for toxic waste dumping! I would contend that sand is deadly if you make selling it a crime and give the criminals the chance to make mucho money off the tax books. Booze, when legal, didn't feed the crime mobs. When illegal, it made fortunes. When they tossed out prohibition, there were thousands of federal cops with nothing to do..... so other, rare at the time drugs were made the new target for tax money. Ever see "Reefer Madness"? 1 joint, 2 murders, a suicide, and a looney bin basket case. They just don't make it like that any more. "play faster!" Also, Congress doesn't whiz in a cup to get & keep their jobs. That basic unfairness is why many people don't trust politicians. Relevant lines at 1:01. Only a fool would believe that the Obama Administration DOJ has ANY interest in enforcing laws. The goal is to be the judicial tip of the spear to further progressive policies and to undermine any law in the way of progressive policies. See DOMA |
