I was on the phone with a client - he is usually in the DC area, but since he was on his mobile, he could have been anywhere. He said, "Oh MY God, we're having an earthquake." So I said, be safe, call me back later. No idea what is going on. I guess SanFran people are more used to this. I was even wondering if my guy was away from DC, like over in California or something... |

I was in my town home 2nd floor,... I thought someone was using my roof to get to a neighbors roof because I heard creaking 1st,.. then my arms resting on my desk all started moving/swaying... and the chair I was in at my desk started moving as well (floor under me), my dog started barking, and the creaking sounds got louder and I stood up and still felt the swaying but now it was in my feet so now I was really fit to be tied... so I ran downstairs and outside to catch the person/worker (i thought) cutting across my roof in the act, only to find 2-3 neighbors also coming out of their homes. What kind of quake was that?? in the middle of the NA plate? 5.9 |

i felt it in chesapeake, va. i was sitting in my truck, on the phone and thought someone was efffing with me and hopping on my tailgate. i read in the news that it was an earthquake ... pretty weak 'quake from what i'm acustomed to out on the left coast. more importantly; it sounds like everyone is okay. i'm glad for that. |

A 5.9 is a warm up exercise in California. Indeed but the ground is different. If and when the mid west/eastern seaboard get one Cali sized we will be screwed |
