My old Garmin City Navigator North America V8 DVD finally gave up the ghost... It can't be read in any of my computers. I have the licenses and the unlock codes, and I contacted Garmin and they can't (well, won't) provide a path to download or re-buy the media. If anyone has this DVD still intact, can you shoot me a PM? I'm going to try some heroic measures to recover the one I have, but I am not optimistic at this point. This is for a Quest 1, so its NOT the NT version. Its the other one (City Navigator North America V8, not City Navigator NT V8, and not City Navigator 2008). Thanks! |

LOL. Thats funny... I need the disk so I can get my stack of quests all sorted so I can give one to Alex! So yes, I want the disk, but only if you promise not to give me another Quest! (Message edited by reepicheep on August 19, 2011) |

I have 4 of them now, and only one still works with the internal antenna. Hard to get upset about, as the externals are $9 on ebay, get much better reception than stock anyway, and are much easier to locate in a good place on the bike.... For the record, the Q2 *does* seem significantly slower than the Q1. So the "These quests are so slow they suck" rants may be a little more justified than I previously thought... the Q1's work great, but the Q2 does feel a bit laggy often. |
