"Saddam actively supported terrorist attacks." Have you got something to back up that claim? Saddam was a terrible guy to his own people. If that is the terrorism you are talking about, I might agree with you. He also tried invasion once, and we put a stop to that. His method of invasion might have been labeled terrorism. If that is what you are talking about, I might agree with you. But if you are saying he somehow actively supported the 9-11 attacks, that is one I haven't heard since Rove and Cheny sold it to Bush. I do agree with you that being wrong isn't lying though. I believe that Bush truly believed that what Rove and Cheny had told him was the truth. They lied to President Bush, and President Bush passed it along to the rest of us. So, maybe you are correct that Bush didn't lie. |

No, I'm talking about the cash payments to suicide bombers, and terrorist training camps complete with commercial aircraft bodies. You know...actively supporting terrorism. Like I said, it's all in the archives. You're a lawyer, so I know you can read fast It would take me forever to go through it all. Again. Here's a site (It looks a little goofy, but everything is referenced) that will give you a little peek at Saddam. http://www.husseinandterror.com/ |

"Saddam's goal ... is to achieve the lifting of U.N. sanctions while retaining and enhancing Iraq's weapons of mass destruction programs. We cannot, we must not and we will not let him succeed." -- Madeline Albright, 1998 "(Saddam) will rebuild his arsenal of weapons of mass destruction and some day, some way, I am certain he will use that arsenal again, as he has 10 times since 1983" -- National Security Adviser Sandy Berger, Feb 18, 1998 "The community of nations may see more and more of the very kind of threat Iraq poses now: a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction, ready to use them or provide them to terrorists. If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow." -- Bill Clinton in 1998 "Whether one agrees or disagrees with the Administration's policy towards Iraq, I don't think there can be any question about Saddam's conduct. He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years, every significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. This he has refused to do. He lies and cheats; he snubs the mandate and authority of international weapons inspectors; and he games the system to keep buying time against enforcement of the just and legitimate demands of the United Nations, the Security Council, the United States and our allies. Those are simply the facts." -- Henry Waxman, Oct 10, 2002 "Saddam's existing biological and chemical weapons capabilities pose a very real threat to America, now. Saddam has used chemical weapons before, both against Iraq's enemies and against his own people. He is working to develop delivery systems like missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles that could bring these deadly weapons against U.S. forces and U.S. facilities in the Middle East." -- John Rockefeller, Oct 10, 2002 "I will be voting to give the president of the United States the authority to use force - if necessary - to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." -- John F. Kerry, Oct 2002 Don't forget that these democrats were not duped by lies told by Bush. Some of them sat on the senate intelligence committee and saw the same info as the president. Some of these statements were made prior to Jan 2001, while Clinton was still in office. Of course this will be dismissed and we'll go on to talk about how Bush stole the election. |

The possibility that a state sponsor of terrorism, namely Iraq, would give chemical weapons to another terrorist organization with the will and proven capability to deliver it to America was more risk than Bush was willing to put up with. We invaded. The Bush haters can not come to grips with the fact that Iraq was a sponsor of terrorism, because that would cast a harsh light on their belief that we invaded a country that posed no threat to us, and then their "Bush lied" chanting would sound all the more hollow. So they choose to be willfully ignorant. See post by Crusty above. |

He should have come to this berg of a town, the retired are off loading their diesel pushers at a rate that makes it look like the housing market sell off.... oh wait. I walked past three pushers that were priced under 40K, one of them had the original window sticker in it - optioned out, it was 268K plus applicable taxes - I am assuming he is selling it for what he owes PS I never did like that the retired could just go buy a vehicle like that without passing a driving test in it, and requiring a CDL type license for it. It is nearly as big as a semi when toying the Rav4 or Honda Element. UP armored RV....the EM50 from Stripes |
