I was teaching Riders Edge today and my local dealer is a Hoka Hey check point. I didn't really think to much about it until they said last years winner received $500,000 Bucks. Then I took notice. That's a lot of green backs. Plus the give you a new bike. I think the highest a Harley has ever placed in the Iron Butt Rally was 3rd. and he was on a Sportster. I think its kinda cool... but then again... it kinda rubs me the wrong way.. |

what rubs you the wrong way exactly? Pretty neat that the hoka hey pays out money, now I SORT of understand why they ask for several grand to ride on public roads and be a part of their ride. |

what rubs me the wrong way is the whole H-D Buell deal.... and on the surface the Hoka Hey looks to be pretty much a Iron Butt Rally rip off. |

We are the next stop along the route. Tough ride they have for this group. It does seem to be a bit like Iron Butt, but whatever the name you have to respect what the riders are accomplishing. I think this is the first year of H-D involvement. |

A gal in our local Harley Club is on that ride. She posts her progress on her facebook frequently. Some of her trip has been kinda scary and there have been some accidents. |
