I will have to speak up and support Honolulu. While i am not one of his PM supporters I honestly must say i respect him for arguing. I wish i had the patience and typing speed to fight for my beliefs. If we ever meet face to face I would love to have a beer and debate with some of you as I am much more formidable that way. To be honest he has argued his point well and so has Sifo. Yet he is being called a troll this I don't understand. |

HBE was doing fine until, well, you know. He is not a troll so there is a point of agreement with the Darkside. HBE: There are flavors of Conservatism, most of which have everything to do with sound fiscal policy and an unwavering support of the Constitution as it IS written. Conservatives believe in minimal government in the workplace AND the bedroom so I don't understand where you are coming from. |

I think the reason Honolulu got called a troll is because I spent an entire day trying to get him to give a direct answer to a simple question. Also there was a repeated misstatement of my position that continued despite numerous corrections. Sorry, but that is troll behavior. He continued this same behavior with Blake after I dropped it. I see he continues with the BS about conservatives want government in the bedroom. |

To be fair Sifo your tactic (at one point) was to get him to answer in your direction for one part of the equation in an effort to sway the complete argument. It was a good tactic but alas he recognized and didn't take the bait. I will take your bait yes not all of congress got to weigh in on this particular bill in the drafting segment. However as they all were able to vote they ALL had the opportunity to note against and start over. (Admittedly it may have been career suicide) So in the end they all got a say. I have to assume everything brought in front of congress gets done this way a small group drafts it the larger approves it. Or am i wrong? |

However, this was one of the better debating threads even if I didn't have an opinion on the topic. Sifo and HBE were both a little snippy at times but we have all seen a lot worse behavior at the BDS (Badweb Debating Society). After his tongue lashing, I bet HBE never pulls that stunt in front of a Judge saying that anonymous people agreed that his client is innocent, therefore, his client is innocent. OK, lets get to the real dirt. Who PM(S)'ed HBE? My money is on Rocco and the liver-lilied-coward-varmint Gess Also, Crusty has been a little TOO quiet lately. . |

Something a troll would do. "I'm right, study XXXX and you would see." Instead of citing actual sources. I appreciate differing opinions, as it gives me a chance to learn. A logical, factual debate, is essential to the betterment of an open mind. |

You must have missed the emoticon or don't recognize Dave Gess's name. I wrote, "liver-lilied-coward-varmint Gess " He is a BHL who feigns disgust at our brilliant Conservative minds. |

Not Dave. Dave and I are on two polar opposite ends of the political spectrum but his views (wrong as they may be ) are always well thought out and he is able to articulate and defend them. I enjoy visiting with folks who hold diverse views. We are all the product of culture, experience, upbringing and background. I've never maintained my view was correct. . . it's simply what I believe. Dave's a smart guy and fails to meet any of the "liver-lilied-coward-varmint" criteria. Court |

It was a good tactic but alas he recognized and didn't take the bait. He didn't take the bait by refusing to answer the direct question. Smart as far as not wanting to be proven wrong, but nevertheless, wrong. The rest of your post about passing the bill is only partially correct. There's more that can be done than simply vote yea or nay. That's where this whole scheme fails. |

*ahem* It's "lilly-livered varmint", not "liver-lillied varmint". If you studied the case law of State of Georgia vs. Yosemite Sam and read all the PM's I got, you'd know this. |

As Congressman Ron Paul points out, the "Super Congress" is just a way for the real congress to shirk its responsibility. It is also a convenient way for lobbyists to focus their efforts...and for members of the super-committee to bring in more campaign contributions. What is it unlikely to do is either cut real debt itself...or allow any sort of automatic system to cut it. Instead, it will move the "baseline" around, so that it can appear to cut debt without actually cutting anything. But this Super Congress is working out as a DC media fraud on us, which is what congress wanted to do from the start. Further deponent sayeth not. |

“The media has got to begin to not give equal time or equal balance to an absolutely absurd notion just because somebody asserts it or simply because somebody says something which everybody knows is not factual. It doesn’t deserve the same credit as a legitimate idea about what you do. And the problem is everything is put into this tit-for-tat equal battle and America is losing any sense of what’s real, of who’s accountable, of who is not accountable, of who’s real, who isn’t, who’s serious, who isn’t?” The quote doesn't say anything about the Tea Party. Just saying. |
