I have been putting this off for way too long and I really need to get a pair of riding pants ordered. I am looking to purchase a pair of pants that offer some protection rather than riding in just jeans all the time. I have been fortunate enough to not "test" my jeans, but I would like to have a product that is a little more suited in case "testing" happens. I am looking for any recommendations for a nice set of riding pants. I am not looking to break the bank, but I will definitely look into all options. Thanks in advance! | ||

Aerostich AD1 or Darien pants. Fit like a pair of jeans, padding in the knees, extra heavy cordura on the parts that will drag in an accident, and waterproof. I wear these all summer long with a pair of shorts underneath and they are very comfortable. Not super cheap, but bulletproof. (Message edited by awprior on August 09, 2011) | ||

I have a pair of Tourmaster mesh over-pants that I wear. That way when I get where I'm going I can take them off and be comfortable in my jeans. They're comfortable on their own and have held up well for about 2yrs. I haven't crash tested them, but they have knee armor and I'm sure they would hold up better than just jeans. | ||

I own mesh outer pants and jacket. Cortech GX Air. Comes with rain liner and warm liner. Both removable. Owned for over one year, I've put over 13,000 miles on the gear with ZERO issues. Underneath, wear cycling shorts with gel bottom. Carry a pair of jeans with you to put over the cycling shorts. | ||

Another recommendation for Tourmaster. I have the Venture Air pants, but if i was buying again I would go with the Flex. The Flex are mesh over pants but with textile panels that can be zipped over the mesh. It also has zip in rain liner and insulation. | ||

I have 2 pair of size 38s waist I need to get rid of all of them are mens and I would let them go for cheap Olympia air cargo pants mesh and a pair of First gear mesh tech pants If you fit into 38's both are yours for 50.00 I have another pair of first gear riding pants that are not mesh but have leather hip pads on the outside. These pair are not made anymore. I lost a lot of weight so I've been trying to sell them none of my motorcycle gear fits anymore! (Message edited by babired on August 09, 2011) | ||

I also just purchased an Olympia Air glide pant. I replaced a Joe Rocket with failed zippers. The Air Glide has a nice more refined fit. Although not intended to be an over pant, one size larger works well and does not fit like a sack. The roll down top ventilation panel works quite well. They are a little pricey but very well made. They are my favorite textile so far. I purchased from the new local BMW shop (Countryside IL). They have a large stock and was nice to be able to stop in a try different sizes. | ||
