Looks like I was wrong on the data of scrapping the space station. http://scitech.blogs.cnn.com/2009/07/15/nasa-to-ju nk-space-station-in-2016/ "According to an article from the Washington Post, NASA space station program manager Michael T. Suffredini raised eyebrows when, at a public hearing last month, he declared flatly that NASA plans to de-orbit the station in 2016." WOW! 2016! |

undercurrent among friends is that they are DIVESTING of the dollar, and fast. Heading to the Euro, the Franc, and even the Chinese Yen. Yep, the world is quite aware of what those in Washington continue to ignore. It just needs to hold off until my plane lands, and then quite frankly - meh. the fall back has always been guns, gas, ammo, MRE's and water. Time to make sure that overseas cache arrived where I sent it too. It is about to get very interesting, and very stupid. |

Looks like we have hit that magic mark where our debt has exceeded our GDP. http://news.yahoo.com/us-aaa-rating-still-under-threat-204040123.html I thought I would add this new data point to the graphic I posted earlier. It looks kind of like this...
Kind of makes you yearn for the days of Jimmy Carter again, doesn't it.

a couple of things, I just saw the "Dow plunges 300 points" like the Apocalypse had just started 300 points is like 2.7% so points are rather meaningless to most folks, cept mebe Warren Buffet spoke to another wire rat like me who works for himself business is off but he's still at it. 1. Time to consider calling my national senators office and ask them to consider starting impeachment proceedings. Oh and get rid of Biden too. 2. Explain that I am tired of hearing about washingtons' smoke and mirrors accounting we need the budget balanced and the debit paid off, NOW why is this so hard? 3. We need measures put into place that help our businesses be competitive. Or perhaps reducing government regulations Written by folks that have no clue. 4. I am fed up with the class warfare $hit, the have-nots have not because they either cant or wont work. If they truly cant TRULY CANT and can not do any thing then perhaps some form of assistance is in order 5. some osha and epa regs are good some are totally frivolous and should be struck 20,000$ fine for a taped up extension cord, or welding lead 6. We as citizens need to demand of our elected officials that a balanced budget and government spending fixed as say 10% gdp with a constitional amendment that requires it with no overrides ( perhaps time of war ) |

And congress goes home to relax an the big o goes to Chicago to party Any normal person would celebrate a milestone birthday by surrounding themselves with as many friends as could attend. Not the big O. His "birthday party" is a $35,000 a plate fundraiser. Of course maybe it's that he has no friends, only contributors or that he only sees others as such. Apparently you can put a price on a good time. |

Actually, this whole thing *is* making me think a little differently in one way. Having such a staggeringly unqualified president has convinced me that our next present first and foremost must be extremely qualified. If both candidates are qualified, I will vote for the one that best matches my ideology. But if only one is qualified, he or she will get my vote regardless of party. I did not agree with Bill Clinton's ideology, and certainly not with his lack of integrity, but he was at least reasonably qualified for the job. Though though he didn't drive the car where I wanted to go, he at least didn't seize the engine because he didn't know how to change the oil, or just drive the thing off a cliff because he thought he everyone else on the road was an idiot. I expected Obama to be a disaster because of his ideology. So far, his arrogance and incompetence is what is doing the real damage to our country. The problem didn't turn out to be that he wanted nationalized health care, the problem turned out to be that he tried to accomplish it as someone extremely arrogant and who apparently can't comprehend simple math. If America elects a socialist liberal, then so be it, we have decided. They just have to (a) remain within the constitution and (b) spend only money they collect. And I'd hold republicans feet to that exact same fire. Our government is failing us. We hired them to lead, and do the hard things, and they are focused on lining their own pockets and protecting their own futures. I'm not niave about politics, they are a suicide mission if you do the right thing. Apparently though, we are out of heroes. (Message edited by reepicheep on August 04, 2011) |

Bill Clinton at least had the good sense to not destroy a good economy that he did virtually nothing to create. He does deserve credit for that much. Unfortunately that economy was largely based on things that were not sustainable, and actually had a clear expiration date after Y2K. I saw it from the inside of that tech bubble. Great place to be on the way up. I feel sorry for those who didn't understand that they were riding that bubble straight toward a nail in the ceiling. I think BO would have managed to ruin that economy before it ever got rolling. |

We are home to Hollywood and the inventor of televised politics, both producing cliff hangers despite the audience's wishes. Ever consider why a certain company is called "DC" Comics? Given the quantity of human resources idling on our US unemployment rolls, we get a 1937 series of anti-"stimulate the economy actions" from Obama and Congress, automatically making the double dip recession gain traction. Swiss francs up today. |

I've taken up going to the Kickstart Cafe for coffee as often as practical, get caught up in the "perennial philosophy" warned of by A. Huxley. Thoughts, notes, come back to BadWeb and besmirch their bandwidth with it. Forgiveness and compassion is supposed to free us from emotional suffering. Problem being, it doesn't excuse the DC comix from their daily offerings. |

On top of the market being down 512 points, it's down that much with a heavy trading volume. Not a good sign. Strap your butts in your seats, it's going to be a bumpy ride! |

Just watching the financial news. They are talking about banks that are actually charging to hold your money. They are saying that so much money has been thrown at the economy, but everybody is too spooked with uncertainty to do anything with the money that the banks don't even want it. |

Holy guacamole........... When I made the GLD and SLV call early this morning I was betting on the market being off 350 ...... Never thought I'd be shorting my way to retirement I'm convinced that Republicans and many Dems are simply going to let Obama implode ...... This guy would make you investments worthless and then go after making your cash worthless. I can't wait to see the employment numbers tomorrow If you were a business, with this clown at the helm would you hire or make ANY sort of commitment in the USA? Amateur hour. Great day to have th hedge on. |
