For a short time yesterday Erik Buell Racing had a FaceBook post directing Buell owners to HD customer service. I can only imagine why that post has been taken down.... |

had a FaceBook post directing Buell owners to HD customer service" Like Guell said - ExBxR cant really do much for Buell customers having issues except sell them parts (and a limited amount of parts, pretty much just race stuff). Makes sense to direct them to HD who can assist |

The way these two companies handle THEIR responsibilities is a perfect example as to why Japan continues to kick our asses in vehicle manufacturing. Way to GO HD and EB. |

HD is one company, E-B-R is another. WHY THE HELL should Erik Buell Racing service a Harley product? (Buell motorcycles are HD products) Erik is moving forward, those who have Harley products still need to deal with Harley dealers. SOME of us are lucky enough to have GOOD HD Dealers to deal with. |

This could be the winning "Ignorant Comment of the Year" award winner. This statement Immediately tells me you have never had any direct dealings with Erik, his staff or Erik Buell Racing since it inception. They truly go above and beyond with personal attention that is unmatched by other companies! (Message edited by ustorque on August 04, 2011) |

the sad reality is that people will consider Buell and Erik Buell Racing the same company. We know that's not true, but it's going to be another hurdle for Erik Buell Racing to get over. It won't be easy, but I'm sure they can. |

I think it was the way he implied that Erik Buell Racing is somehow responsible for Buells made when they were owned by HD. Nothing could be further from the truth as Erik Buell Racing has no responsibilty. It is 100% on HD. |

Bo liver has a lot of things confused. Take this for example: What I don't like or support is Erik Buell Racing. He washed his hands of what made him famous so I am washing my hands of Erik Buell Racing since because he IS using foreign motors and I really think we have a large enough market for that already. Now if he ever STARTS FULLY supporting the bikes that made him famous then I'll get back on board. Otherwise FOOK him, I ain't spending my money on his Gas caps or ECM's. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=32777&post=2052133#POST2052133 Just ignore him, he makes little sense. |

I am betting "he" is a "she"... some people know absolutely nothing about the history of Buell Mo. Co. and the HD Mo. Co. Best not to feed the troll... (Message edited by Whatever on August 04, 2011) |

No need for name calling Some things folks simply don't know or understand. Other things they can't I'd suggest that no one who ever worked for Buell would dare interfere in HD's continuing responsibility There are significant consequences for even talking about issues. Harley-Davidson made those contracts The best evidence of the distance between Erik Buell and the subject problems is that they remain unsolved. If it were, by the wildest stretch, within his reach......it would have long ago been solved.. I've been buying and riding his motorcycles since 1988 and am speaking purely on personal opinion and my personal experience having met thousands of riders.. |

The fact as I see it E.B.R. does not have to do anything for the Buell(h-d) bikes support or parts and yet a lot of people have called or contacted them in some aspect and gotten help from them which again they don't have too cause it is not thier product it is after all H-D's product speaks highly of the company and the man. The fact is unless you own a 1190 or one of the race bikes built by them last year they don't owe you support. Yes they sell race goodies for these bikes and what not but there is nothing forcing them too. |

For the record Erik Buell also gets a scary number of emails from folks who have never owned any Buell product and are asking for help. The last time I was with him .... He got a long, rambling, in broken English e-mail from a frustrated Sportster owner in Europe. He was up in the wee hours answering it and many others. Genius be damned ..... The guy has a heart the size of Texas. |
