If praying actually worked then why doesn't the church pray for a winning lottery ticket and then not have to feed off their parishioners paychecks? Maybe nobody is listening? Maybe if people took positive action instead of clasping their hands together and chanting like zombies there could actually be progress made? hmmm nah... let's keep praying to an invisible sky god... that'll save us, yup sure will! JUST LIKE TEXAS! amen! *sigh* |

How about finding another thread to spew your hatred in? I don't think this one is appropriate. |

I'm having quite a good day actually... Any post with the title of "ATTENTION!!!!! Please Read" does tend to make one curious yes? Well when I open it hoping to see some neat new pics of the Buell 1190RS or some announcement and I get more religious nonsense then I feel it's fair to put out a counterpoint. I didn't start the thread... but I won't be silenced (unless 'somebody' starts censoring and deleting posts again) because my viewpoint is as valid as the next person. The basic point I attempted to make was instead of praying, do something, you'll get better results. Try an experiment if you like! Pray for new tires to appear on your bike, see how long it takes. Oh and Pwnzor, thanks for that good ol' fashioned christian love! What happened to turn the other cheek? Please note I have nothing against anyone here (*except people who censor opinions they disagree with) and nothing personal was intended. I did intend to point out that religious hocum does no good and somebody has to be the voice of reason (however unpopular that may be). Almost time to go for a ride and enjoy the real world ride safe, ride free... |

Thank you, Superdavefft, for the anti-Christian rant. As you missed the original purpose of this thread, you are doing a two part harmony with a carousel and a drum solo concerning a timely circumstance about which you are not familiar. Then again, nobody has more knowledge or opinions about Christians than those who hate them. Thanks again. |

>>> my viewpoint is as valid as the next person. It's not your viewpoint that is the problem. It is your hateful, mean-spirited behavior. Frankly, I've had enough of it. Final warning. |

There's nothing hateful or mean spirited in anything I stated... Some viewpoints... hmmm... Who's to say what viewpoints should or should not be stated? I live in the US, we have freedom of expression here, do you? It still amazes me at how religious people who claim to be forgiving and compassionate (as their 'good book' is claimed to instruct) are the first ones to react with insults or threats *(yes this is you Blake, final warning = threat). Oh and admittedly I figured I missed a part of the thread when I opened it but I already explained why I opened it and posted my two cents worth... time to ride, |

Judas was a jerk, I forgave him. Still a jerk. My father was a jerk, I forgave him. Still a jerk. I've been known to be a jerk, but I'm working on it. What are you doing? My compassion and forgiveness has no bearing on the reality of how somebody else behaves. You open a thread that has nothing to do with what YOU thought it should, and start bashing religion. You don't hear me trying to tell an athiest to go to church. You don't hear me bashing them, putting them down, calling them stupid or anything remotely like that. How do you feel now? I forgave you before you even woke up this morning. I'm not perfect, and I admit this readily. When I open a thread I'm not interested in, I just move on. |

I never claim to be a GOOD Christian. More a work in progress with hope. The battle between those who worship at Persig's noted Church of Science and Church of Reason (science vs philosophy) both condemn, degrade and ridicule the Christian Church, with no knowledge of understanding of what it is. Ad hominem rules the Christian bashers. Good luck with that. |

The definition of disgusting and loathsome irony.... http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2011/07/3 1/church-child-protection-chief-caught-with-child- porn-pictures-115875-23308972/ And I agree with Blake! Bigots do suck! 1. Those who discriminate against women 2. Those who discriminate against race 3. Those who discriminate against other faiths, or lack thereof 4. Those who discriminate against homosexuals oh wait... that sounds like something I've heard of... hmm oh yea that's the church isn't it? (*I'll spare you the scripture snips, look it up yourself, it's all over that book...) |

Dave, You are right and wrong. Faith and God are not bad things. If nothing else the make most people peaceful and happy. You seem a tad bit bitter IMHO and perhaps you have cause. That being said no good will ever come from people throwing their beliefs in anothers face whether this be for or against. This will only escalate a situation. Religion HAS done all the things you say it has. Is that Gods fault no. That is man warping a good thing to suit his needs. |

Ironically, it takes much more faith to believe that all we are and are capable of came from essentially nothing, without an intelligent designer. It's like if I asked you, "Who made those tires you're putting on your bike?" and you told me,"they just evolved into this state over millions of years. Obviously not, somebody made them. And if there was no intelligent designer, then who is to say what is really right and wring? It's no longer a question of a man's will but his "instinct". Why should we kill a man that murdered 1 person if that was just his instinct? Who are we to say that it's not lawful to kill a man? Where did we come up with this idea? |
