I installed a new chain cause the rollers are worn out.Took it for a ride and it was chain sucking like crazy on the middle front ring.Installed a new middle ring and now it's smooth as glass. That ring was really worn. I guess that's why they say you should replace your rings and chain at the same time. |

Youn's are making me get my geek on about bicycles again... I've got an old, run-down Trek mountain bike, no suspension at all, haven't ridden it in years... but my baby is my old, OLD Cannondale criterium road bike. It's so old it still uses the sew-up tires, but on the greenway system here it's SO fun, flickable, and FAST... Here's a vid my sis sent me about some dirt nutjobs... hope they had some first aid packed somewhere... http://www.wimp.com/crazydownhill/ |

Oh yeah, Brothers... Ummm, you need to train your bike not to hump the Uly- that's kinda rude and lewd...

I guess that's why they say you should replace your rings and chain at the same time. If you let your chain go too long it will ruin your cog set and chainrings...making the bike worse than it was before you changed the chain. Get a chain checker and replace the chain as necessary, it will increase the life of the cogs and rings(which aint cheap). |

Very nice! I just got off the phone with FedEx. I've been getting the run-around all week. Hopefully Monday they'll have an answer about my wheels. |

Re: Scooter808484 "<< Lives DIRECTLY across the street from this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXkI10Z_hD8&NR=1 " That's a crazy trail, Love the flow! I think I'd be dead within a week if I lived anywhere around something like that. Good choice in bikes too, the Knolly will rail that. |

Thanks Ross, glad to hear your hanging in the gym as well. Last week I stepped on the scales and I have gained about 10 lbs since I started. I look like Im in great shape now but my endurance is pretty sad, so I hope the mtb will help with that. And if I stick with it, the wife said I can buy the Marin at the local bike shop that I got my eye on. |

Bosh- If you were in Sedona tell me you had a chance to hit the trails in Flagstaff too. Mt. Eldon has some of the best trails I have ever seen, particularly the Sunset trail and Schulz creek. I live a few hours south of Sedona in Tucson. My wife and I made the drive up for a weekend last week...it was nice to take a break from the heat and ride in some cooler weather. Sedona is like a "mini-moab", I always have a good time there. |

That riding above the clouds thing looks interesting...almost like being in another world. What is the elevation there? |

SL-R is about 1/2 lb lighter, stiffer and takes a tapered head tube bearing. I think it also has better brake mounts and cleaner cable routing. Also more expensive... I have a couple of pics from the Sea Otter on my flickr account if you want to click the links at the bottom of my pics. |

AZ, No I actually only got to ride two days . Unfortunately my wife doesn't ride and she had other ideas for vacation. I'll get back there one day for a mtb only vacation . Love Arizona. I'd like to live there one day. Mt. Diablo is only about 3800 feet or so. The good part is its base is not much above sea level so you get to climb most of that. That day [in the picture] was kind of cool, did all the climbing in the fog and came out into a awesome sunny day. IMG_0971 by , on Flickr |

@Bosh... I just watched that video again for the first time in a while. That guy, Lars, riding in it is too much! The Knolly will do a much better job on that trail, than her owner will, unfortunately. Got me inspired to set up a Whistler trip though! BicycleBob, we must be neighbors! |

Craig, where are you mt. biking around Richmond? I'd like to get back into it but all my biking buddies have moved off. I used to go to Cave Run alot as they have several miles of good, some challenging, trails. And to date myself I used to ride Lake Reba before it was all built up, not a single house up there, it's been a few years... |

I pick it up in Chicago tomorrow Those are cool looking bikes.. I have a thing for orange as well.. One of the reasons I like my Uly so much. Never ridden a 29er before, they are supposed to be fast as heck. Ride the wheels off that thing |
