Good grief. No.. there is no such thing as “good grief” Grief is hard and painful. From your description of your brother and the relationship you enjoyed, it is clear that you have something special. I was riding with my brother when he had an accident a few years ago. It was horrible watching it all happen in slow motion. He was fine in the long run though. I cannot imagine if something truly horrible had happened that day. I am so sorry for your loss. It broke my heart to read that. As fellow motorcycle riders hearing the circumstances of the death of another rider gives us all pause to reflect on the dangerousness of the sport. I've often constructed different scenarios in my mind attempting to formulate some course of action to avoid injury but at the end of the day there is no amount of preparation sufficient. All we can do is hope for the best. There is no rhyme or reason why some walk away from horrific crashes and others perish from seemingly benign accidents. Steve, your ability to sit down and relay your story to the rest of us shows you're on the right path to dealing with your loss. Keep reaching out to others and through the sharing may you find some measure of peace. | ||
