Typical: worker A who is new performs certain duties with help from worker B, the worker B says "maybe we should do like this, because the boss likes it this way... yes, I know that is the correct way", worker A thinks it is logical and agrees. 2hrs later the Bossman come's in and says to worker A,.. I told you to do THIS not THAT... literally implying that worker A is stupid. So worker B goes and stands along side bossman and nods his head in agreement with the boss like HE know's what the boss is talking about (making sure the boss see's it too) and says... "Thats what I was saying" after every point the boss comes across with. At some point eventually the boss and Worker A stop and look at Worker B and confront his constant head nodding agreements. Of course he has no answer and guess where he looks for one... Worker A!! So, worker A like's his job so he then starts explaining the reason for taking the work in the certain direction and also not blaming anyone, and guess what happens next... Worker B starts nodding and agreeing with worker A's explanation and says... "Thats what I was saying" after every point again!! lol After 3 months of this... the bossman figures out worker B is just a yes man with a visa and he lets him go. |

starbucks is bad coffee. Friends don't let friends drink it. It is the McDonalds of coffee - you aint going there for a gourmet burger and you aint goin to starf*cks for a decent coffee. And in Seattle, we do have our options; every other block as a matter of course. American HR/Recruiter/Web Widget TaleoX - blows. No wonder the economy isnt moving. and if you survive the electronic shuffle filter you get 15 seconds of preview by a generalist, that cant do you job, doesnt know your job, and has no idea what you job actually does. (and If I get one more of these twits calling me for IT work because my resume says intelligence on it, I am going to go full postal) someone some where decided to call the IT department 'business intelligence' wtf. I employ ordinance, troops, aircraft, prepositioned assets and tactics to make an adverse affect in an enemy's daily routine - they use routers, servers, hubs, chase packets, and operate the IP stack - learn the f'n difference. I actually made a total joke resume with all the things you are never supposed to say.... under the alias Richard Dumbasse - that thing is generating contract creative writing jobs. The real resume? nothing from a job board. So happy to be OUT. |

Court enjoys being slapped. He pays me for that stuff. He just eats it up. Char just tell Court to step up and pay you what you are worth, then you can just ride around the country chasing Court on his exploits and slap him around a little.

I credit working for McDonald's in 1969 for instilling my work ethic. Minimum wage back then was $1.65 but food service got a break so I started at $1.35 + 15¢/hr towards food. During an 8 hour shift you got one 15 minute lunch break. A 10 hour shift earned you two 10 minute lunch beaks. Most Saturdays I worked 11am to 2:30pm and then 5pm to 1am with one 15 minute break in there after the dinner rush. I put in an average of 45 hours a week and was considered part-time. Oh yeah, we were the third busiest McDonald's in the nation. We often had buses lined up in the vacant lot across the street. Nothing I've done since then has been as hard as that. I've shown up to work in a wheelchair with an IV hanging out of my arm. A few weeks ago, I donned a set of leathers and welded for a couple of hours in 105 degree heat just to show the guys that the boss can still do it. I blame it all on McDonald's. |

Finally called the contract manager and told him the e-mail from the client engineer was cryptic enough I didn't know what it meant... he confirmed they gave the job to the other candidate because he had more relevant experience... hopefully he will not be driven mad by the client 'boss'... sort of feel sorry for the guy even though I was not allowed to meet him... lol |
