Trouble with that idea is that while Obama's crew is happy to cut the military, any "militia" they create is going to be as "well funded and armed" as the existing military. He has so promised. Why cut when spending more gets you more power?

And such a militia won't be armed citizens defending the community, but the new gestapo oppressing it. I bet you your freedom.
( when we lose ours, how long for yours? )

Even if this isn't a sign of oppression, just corruption, one line is a touch chilling.

Dave G the uaw and the dept of labor held gun to the car companies. Example if your left rear door hanger and the plant only builds 2 doors now you stay home @80% pay till they build 4 doors again. Some of those guys have not worked in years. But collect anyway. The work rules and not just the pay scale is the problem

Personal responsibility . . . .

We should really build a monument to the erosion of it. Like the "expert" who posts on the internet who has no name nor credentials . . or the autoworker who has no compunction about smoking dope while being paid to do a job. . . it's not the fact that simple responsibility is gone. . .it's the fact that the feds seem to have built, at our expense, the highway for it to leave on.

I see it in students who pay nothing for an Ivy League education, considered themselves entitled to certain grades and folks who have no sense of the old action\consequences relationship.

Once the consequences were removed . . well, folks don't much care about the actions.

The unions don't care about running a company into the ground (I'm not excusing the management folks role either) but as long as the UAW worker who is laid off gets paid %80 of their wages . . . they could care less if they are producing or adding value.

I got mine . . now you get yours.

It's a mindset I think.

Cowboy: I think jobs are outsourced overseas for one basic reason. It costs less to make goods overseas and ship them here than it does to make them here. Now, I'll grant you that two of the many factors that contribute to this are taxes and the high cost of domestic labor, but I'm of the opinion that you could eliminate unions and still wouldn't find many Americans willing to work for peanuts per day.

In my opinion, the only way to bring manufacturing jobs home while maintaining the standard of living Americans are accustomed to is to engage in a little protectionism. Increase import regulations and taxes so that it is more expensive for people to get foreign manufactured goods into the largest consumer economy in the world. In other words, raise the cost of manufacturing goods overseas and importing them until they are on par with the cost of domestic manufacturing.

Hey Blue I dont think I explained my #7 well enough as we have enough gas and oil to last for many yrs. to come we could be xporting oil in stead of buying it. this would bring us a stronger Dollar and lower our cost of transportion. when we have cheap energy our goods will be very competive also. I dont have a problem with a worker making a decent wage I jusst hate to see some of the stupid things they aare doing with the union mans money.

I'm not for anti free trade laws. however, I am for a level playing field.

The differences in environmental law between China the US are vast. We're at a significant disadvantage.

Perhaps an environmental impact fee should be added to all products originating in China, or any country with a dismal environmental track record?

It's a bit hypocritical to ban the domestic manufacture of something and then say it is OK to import those same products.

Don't get rid of unions but instead grow their membership. Then deport said union members to china to infect their workforce. Probrim sarvd.

Yeah, give Rocco a break. The construction unions should not be lumped in with autoworkers and govt unions. I've had my differences with 669 over the years but things have been quiet for a long time now.

I used to be a member (you had no choice back in the 70's) but I quickly decided I didn't need them for my success.

I was in LA yesterday closing the deal on a $700k job and landed another for $210k job this morning. It's been a long dry spell, and I used to do this many times a year, but I'm grateful for this work.

The 'armed - funded' Obama militia is already standing up. It is the new USPHS 'Ready Reserve' corps that was buried in the new Healthcare Bill 3500 Commissioned Cadre Officer respondent directly to the President for incidents of 'national emergency, pandemic, epidemic, civil unrest, natural disasters, economic recovery, community development and resilience' Those last three ought to really creep you out if you have been paying attention.

PS Resilience is out to RFP - Under the Charter of the UN and 'Urban Disprarity Equalization against Poverty, Hunger and Climate Change' Fat bank rolled, and ready to be stupid.
2016 Looks to be VERY interesting -
Headed Overseas for so many reasons.
