My Brother is heading out from SoCal for a week of MidWestern Motorcycle Riding R&R. I have a pair of '01 Buells, and M2L and an S3T. Originally we were gonna hit the Byways of S-IN, N-KY before heading up for a couple of days of N-MI touring.
However, my niece, his daughter lives in Nashville, TN, and he hasn't seen her in a while. It's 4 hours there. So we've decided to spend a couple days there first.
So, my question is, does anyone have a Suggested FUN route from Nashville, TN to Muskegon, MI? We're looking to do some Twisty Touring, not so much all out SuperSporting. Venturing into Ohio or Illinois would be acceptable routes.
Indiana is pretty flat and straight, as is Ohio roughly west of I-71. Plenty of good roads in SE Ohio, it's getting from there to western Michigan that'll be troublesome (boring).
Yeah, you're on the wrong side of Ky. for the really fun roads. You can however make a run for the infamous Rabbit Hash. Why it's infamous I don't know, have seen it in several publications which instructed me I just had to go and this pretty much explains it..
It's basically just a wide place in the road with a grocery/souviner shop built in the 1830's. 127N is a decent motorcycle road getting there. It's across the river from Rising Sun Indiana if you feel the need to donate some money on your trip.
When you're that close to Bowling Green, if you have any interest whatsoever, you need to hit the Corvette Museum.
I don't consider Muskegon, Northern Michigan. if you can go a little further north, I would suggest riding M-22 from just north of Mansitee to Northport and loop back down through Greilickville and pick up US31 south at Chums Corners in Traverse City to head back to Muskegon. nice ride. check it out.
youre going to be hard pressed to find a "good road" from mid Indiana to muskegon mi. as fordrox suggested hit up m-22, it is probably the best road on the lower peninsula Michigan has to offer
