(Don't tell anyone but it's not that great anymore & hasn't been for a while now!) Sadly true. Do you think it's because we left or we left because... |

I left because.... Personally, I was doing very well under Thatcher but I could see the direction in which Britain was heading. I have 3 brothers, two of whom regret not coming to the States when they had the opportunity. Chris C |

I had two guys from Cardiff, well near Cardiff, that were satellite dish installers (the big stuff). Them two guys were impossible to understand. This was especially true if they had any alcohol on-board...totally beyond me and funny too. We had a colonel from the German army in the mix and he went to Rutgers for 3 years so his English was near-native. He would look at me and say, in German, "what did they say?" My normal response was "not a clue." They left Afghanistan to go install dishes in Russia for a trucking firm. It was more money and less danger...win win. |

They are probably also offended by the shortened "Britain" in place of "Great Britain." No offense should be taken as Britain and Great Britain describe two different, though related, regions. Britain = England, Whales Great Britain = England, Whales, Scotland United Kingdom = England, Whales, Scotland, N. Ireland |
