I have an old cannondale F1000 and have been looking to upgrade for the last few years. Although kind of spendy, the new Niner RIP9 and JET9 are on the top of my list. Does anyone have any experience with these models? |

Here's my Baby: Ibis Mojo SL. Just added the Easton Haven wheels and got rid of the Kenda Karmas. I'm running Tubeless Maxxis Cross-marks now. Huge difference in cornering traction, loving it so far. Rockshox Reverb is the shitz as well IMHO.

Five years old already. The only thing I've done to this bike is replace the headset bearings and new rear tire. |

On a side note, I just scored a Marzocchi fork with 100 mm travel and lockout. There's a second Marzocchi fork I was looking at that didn't have lockout, that I thought I'd link here if anyone is interested. A steal at $50+shipping. The owner has PayPal. Once I scored the deal I got I told him I'd pass te info along to you guys. http://quadcities.craigslist.org/bik/2464154430.ht ml |

The new wheels don't have reflectors and these are going to my brother so I won't bother with that; why remove the kickstand? You're not the first to tell me this but I don't yet understand the reasoning. |

Remove the kickstand because.... it's heavy, and ( most importantly) you'll go 'boing' over something... the kickstand will extend and when you land... the only thing that keeps moving is you... THUNK! OW! OWW! OWWIE!!!... don't ask how we all know... |

Yeah I was thinking about it and you alomst always can find something to lean the bike against anyways, so might as well. I ctually took it off right after he brought it to my attention, I just didn't understand quite why. |

you alomst always can find something to lean the bike against anyways, Heck, it's a mountain bike, not some prissy skinny tired bike. It needs to lie about in the mud! |

Yes I have trip computers on all my bikes. Fun to Know how far and how fast you've ridden. That one is a 10 function it has temp, average speed, time ridden a clock and other stuff. A good cheaper one is the Cateye Enduro,it has a heavy duty wire. |

I use GPSLoggerII on my blackberry to keep up with that stuff. It doesn't automatically turn on and off when you start and stop but it does keep up with speed, distance, elevation and plots your course on a map. Not bad considering it's free. I originally got it to try to use it as a laptimer on the track but it's great for running and biking. (Message edited by notpurples2 on July 08, 2011) |

Here's my bike in its current state. Still waiting on the wheels >, but the new fork is CUSH and awesome. And the lockout is extremely handy, and can be locked out at any height. Also added Origin 8 grips (cut down about an inch) and bar ends (though I mounted them further in for more comfort cuz the 27" bars are WIDE), and a speedo/odo. And I mounted the front 8" rotor; had build a spacer set to get the caliper mounted right for the disc since the new fork has post mount rather than IS mounts, or maybe it's the other way around? Can't remember which is which.

Phelan- How much had you been drinking before you mounted your bar ends? |

I mounted them where they're most comfortable. I use this bike for commute as well as canyon carving, that's why I wanted front and suspension with lockout. I got a DCRV RP23 on the way; I may have to get creative with the mounting but I can handle it. I stole the suspension, at $100 for the front and $100 for the rear. |

Just yanking yer chain...they look funny mounted inboard like that, but I have seen people do that before for commuting. The downside is you lose the normal function of the bar ends for climbing...which is what I use mine for mostly. I am a big fan of Fox suspension, I have an rp23 on my Titus with a talas up front. Over the years I have used Marzocchi,Rock Shox,Manitou, and RST. The Fox is far and away the superior suspension for the type of riding I do. I just gave it a good workout in Sedona this last weekend, I will try to post some pix later. |

Well I don't remember who offered the new years fitness challenge two years ago but I'm still in the gym every week. But i think it's time to mix it up some, so I just bought a Raleigh talus. I just hope I can stick with it. I'll post a pic when she comes in. |

Nice Craig! I can't remember if I was part of that thread or not, but I'm in the gym 3-4 times a week as well cuz I've got a good workout partner. My diet isn't as good as it used to be but I'm stronger now than I was last year even though I'm not as cut. I'll go through a cutting cycle later. I can't wait till I get my new rear shock in and figure out what's up with my wheels that FedEx lost. I had to file a case with them about them. |
