I do have it bad.... but my truck hasn't been right ever since the crash I was in last year. I was always waiting for the next thing to go wrong.... I've had pretty good luck with Yokohama tires and the wife likes'm. |

I ran Cooper STT MT's on my street driven rig...good wet weather traction good offroad for anything this side of gumbo mud, and good mileage. My pure offroad rig had Boggers...not real good in sand...but nothin' better this side of tractor tires for mud. |

My brother has 2 of those samurai's. One of them has a huge 6" lift and a 1.6l turbo diesel conversion. He is getting 30 miles to the gallon. He has one soft top with a snorkel for water crossings and a tin top with a 4" lift. |

The way this year is going I will be happy to be making the WVBR with or without the Jeep. It is only one of two events on my calendar for the rest of the year that are not extraneous to me. The other being Buelltoberfest. |

Pulled the nose off the Jeep last night so I can begin the frame repair. Hoping to have the frame repaired and the suspension done by the end of the month. I'm trying to get this thing done by the end of summer but man it's hard to find the time. Planning on dropping the new powerplant in next month. |

I am just drooling over putting my CJ back together. Time is the missing element so far. I want to paint everything that is apart so that it looks new again as I assemble it. I could be riding it in a weekend without painting and updating only what is necessary though. Hmmmmmm!???! What to do? What is up with the frame Jim? I hope it is not rust. I scrapped a nice frame last winter. It sat around in the way for years and no one on Craigs List was willing to pay $100 for it. It had two little rust spots at the front rear spring brackets. |

yeah..... One of the frame rail next to the steering box is pretty bad, I already bought the section I need. The rest of the frame is good. I'd like to get that and my 5.5" lift finished this month. My one major problem............. Damn kids and life get in the way of my fun. lol |

When my XJ was new I had a bed-liner type undercoating on all of the wheel wells. It looked great, dirt fell right off, it help sound proof, and I'm sure it helped protect against the Utah salt. It lasted for ten years before it all fell off at once. I'm thinking about redoing the wheel wells. |

Hey Mark, U-Pol makes hi end quality stuff. I have not tried this product, but would not be afraid to us it from them. Jim, I was doing some measuring today....I might be in the 'modify the frame rails' mode to fit my heavy half ton axles and steering parts. Oh well, that is what plasma cutters, measuring devices, and welders are for! |

Why your ball is out of it's socket! Were it mine and I needed an anti-sway bar, I would not get those solid and expensive Mopar units. Throw them away and install an un-hookable kit or an old style stacked washer and bushing on a bolt kit like on all of the older GM cars, trucks, Jeeps etc. |

Would you like a play by play on my little or no expense "rebuild the CJ again" project? I will post pictures and such if anyone is interested in how it hopefully will get back together with modifications in time for the West Virginia Buell Rally. Even though this thread fell off the map I can work it out here or start a new thread somewhere. Things are getting kind of boring in Uly maintenance land. |
