With just over 12k, the left wheel bearing crapped on the XT. No sign of discoloration at last wash (500 miles before), smooth bearings at last tire change (6-6.5K). Very windy conditions (gusts to 50+ mph), gave an odd wiggle in rear as though tire going flat. Actually pulled over and checked air in tire! Another mile or so and a distinct noise "kaPinkt".... WTF? Open the super quiet Schuberth and remove ear plugs... another mile "kaPinkt" pull over to find left rear bearing literally exploded and only has about three balls left in it! The balls exiting the assembly were making the noise. No cell service, alone and the middle of nowhere on a back country road. Idled about 1/2 mile to intersection with next road to wait. State trooper stops, gives lift to town (1/2 mile) where there's not only a NAPA, but cell service! Only one bearing in stock, no other until the next morning. Call closest friend, who drives 70 miles, the we load bike and drive another 100 to a dealer that actually had bearings in stock! Back to Vermont, install and ride home thinking every vibration is the wheel coming apart.
Dealership has had bike for three weeks now and no end is in sight. Caliper bracket, left 'stub' of swingarm, wheel and bearing spacer are all mildly damaged. Does anyone know where I can get a 2010 wheel anymore? Willing to eat the cost and do the work myself if I can get the parts.

If you drove it far with the bad bearing, it isn't hard to damage the wheel, brake, swingarm and such like you did, often requiring replacement (hopefully its all warranty for you!)

The 2010 wheel is available, it just may take a while to get, HD has been real fantastic with getting them shipped in an quick and orderly fashion.

Thanks everyone, Al n Joanne DO have a wheel and all the required bits. Visiting the dealer tomorrow to find out where I'm at as far as a completion date.
I didn't drive far... well at least as far as I know... there was no noise or vibration... if it hadn't been for the flat tire like, momentary wobble, I would have kept tearin' up the lovely little country lane I was on. I didn't think wheel bearings at first, the bike was loaded, plus a sleeping bag on the passenger's seat and it was very windy...
