I joined INDEED to and put my resume up and got an email from a strange company called Blackhawk Consulting Group,Inc. I believe they are headhunters for temp/conntract work. They seem to be from India as I cannot understand 3/4's of what they say. They had a job listed that is sort-of local to me. After a quick phone conversation, this is the info they request from me: -------------------------- visa status : rate : availability notice period : last 4 digits of SSN number : updated resume : we request you to send us updated resume with the locations for the clients you have worked for ( example XYZ client / state) -------------------------- they already have my resume, times are very tough... I have never had to deal with anyone or any company like this before... it seems strange to me. No other temp service or employer has ever asked for any SS info until I was hired. |

Not sure about that one to be honest. Make sure you get on Linked in. Many companies are using it to recruit as it costs them nothing. You will come up in searches by being 3 time removed from a contact. So search for most contacts. These people won't know you but are using Linked in to their advantage. so you find a few with thousands of connections send them an email they accept you. Then you are 1st connected to them 2nd connected to their connections and 3rd connected to their connections. It helps trust me! |

But the other call I got like this was just as wierd, (month ago) but for a position 3k miles away in San Diego for 4 months on a military base, how does some 3-5 person headhunting employment company get contracts with the military?? (I did not send them my info) (I do have a problem working/living on the Pacific Plate... I have to stay on N.A. no quakes for me) |

"how does some 3-5 person headhunting employment company get contracts with the military?? " Easy. Minority/women owned business. There's a quota. |

Scum sucking sh*tbags... tried the same type of crap with me... another company, but same sh*t... I was told: DO NOT REPLY TO ANY E-MAIL as they can hack into your computer just using the header from a sent e-mail and cause all sorts of havoc on your machine... I posted about Collabera here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/632106.html?1305484473 They might be a legitimate company like Collabera is, but they will take advantage of you and crap all over you even if they are... |

They have no reason to ask for your former clients... I ALWAYS make sure in interviews to keep that confidential as your new (potential) employer would expect you to do the same for them!!! It is so frustrating!!! |

Sometimes I think I'd be better off starting an employment service myself. |

I'm sure there is an honest recruiter somewhere. I haven't run across them yet. I've had better luck with used car dealers. |

What are they hiring for? I would need to really think about moving away. |

"they can hack into your computer just using the header from a sent e-mail" All the header will reveal is your IP address if you're using an smtp email client, and not much at all about you if you're using gmail or any other web based email. |
