Coming home from Franklin this Memorial Day weekend, the Uly turned over 55k miles. I know I am one of the first Uly owners and that got me thinking. How long has anyone owned a particular Buell and how far have they ridden it? I know 1313 will be hard to beat, but I think I am doing okay here. Heck my Uly still has the original rear wheel bearings. I bought the M2 used on Mother's day 2004. It had 26K miles. Today it has 47K miles. The Uly I bought new October 1, 2005. So how long, how far? M2 - 7 years, 1 month but only 21k miles Uly - 5 years, 8 months and 55k miles |

My 2005 XB12R. Bought in Oct 2008 with 4700/4800 on it. Well on the way to 23,000. Just found out the outer thrust washer (clutch hub) was missing the whole time. Fixed it, and it's smoother than ever. I can see lots more miles in my future. Next is tires and bearings. |

March 2003 XB9S bought new with Race Kit installed. Almost 80,000 miles The only thing replaced (other than wearable items) is the stator, everything else came on the bike. No wait, somehow I broke the ECM, probably when relocating it when I changed from the S tail to the R tail. |

Speaking of long-lived, high mileage Buells, where's Tramp been lately? |

In Nov 2004 I bought a new city-X. I did 14,000 warranty free miles until May 2006 when I got my Uly. I tried from January to get one, but all had been pre sold. The first one that came available to me in my area was in May. The Uly is at 55,000 miles. This is my first period of ownership of six months with less than 500 miles, hopefully ending now. Business changed to where I just don't get to ride for business and I have had little or no personal time to ride. |

City x-purchased in 4.2006 with 1200 miles. Sold in 4.2011 with 23K mostly problem free miles. 09 Uly XT-purchased during fire sale in 10.2009 with 7 miles. Now at 23K. Some minor issues, mostly covered under warranty. 09 Uly X-purchased in 2.2011 with 4K miles. Cracked ECM that inconveniently occurred on trip back from smokies. She never left us on the road, now at about 10K. Hoping for at least 50K on both Ulys, but still really miss the city-x. |

I'm envious of the miles you guys can do. I moved REALLY close to work, so I don't get to commute anymore and I ride a lot less... Buellistic has an S3T with something like 125kmi on it. Tramp's S2 is rumored to be over 200kmi. |

i suppose i should have written mileage down on my bikes... with 7 buells in the garage and a handful that have passed through my possession(some bikes more then once) i have no idea how many miles i put on a year or anything. i know in march i racked up somewhere around 3000 miles between the bikes in the short run of nice weather we had. heck im not even sure how many miles my bikes have on them exactly, but i do know the 1125r is pushing up real close to its first valve check... ugh. and i put a TON of miles on when i spent 4 months in florida for the winter the other year. what else did i have to do(if i wasnt working) besides ride?! |

06 Uly, bought new in '08, 24k or so right now. 95 S2, bought used in '05 with 12k or so, just under 30k now. 98 S1W, bought used in '06 with 1100 miles; a shade under 8k now. 09 CR, bought new in 10/09, 3k or so now. Past bikes? 99 M2, bought new in fall '98, sold in '00 with 38k. 96 FLHP Road King police bike, bought in 00 with 7k, sold in 06 with 55k. I think. Not a lot of miles on any one bike...but that's my fault for having so damned many I guess (shrug). I don't think I've even put 1k on the M2(not)L yet...but it'll get there! |

I'm working on 24K on my '05 XBSX. Had to replace the original motor, now running a healthy 983cc from a donor '03 XB9R. Happy to run it on its inaugural run EXACTLY 2000.9 miles to and from Homecoming last year.

I remember my first March Badness event where there was an old man riding a brand new Uly. The Uly had just come out and he had purchased one of the first. Anyway, he showed up at T.W.O. with a bandana tied over one of his oil cooler lines. When he was asked what was going on with it, he stated he had developed an oil leak. There was some joking and kidding about it and the fact the bike was so new. He replied promptly that the bike had 90k on the clock and he was going to leave the bandana on there until he hit 100k. I stood there with my mouth hanging open trying to figure out how this guy put 90k miles on his Uly in 6 months. Anyone else remember him? |

Last I heard from Tramp, he was looking for another engine. I don't know if his gave up, or if he was just making sure he could get his hands on one before it did. Metal fatigue was his concern. Anyone else remember him? Yeah, but I don't know where he is now. |

'06 XB12Ss purchased new in March of '08. Just turned over 41,000 miles on Thursday. Engine has never been in need of repair. There have been other minor issues like a fan, wheel bearing, burnt connector for the voltage regulator. |
